Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April 2026.

29th April, 2026.

It’s officially a truth that’s universally acknowledged: a single man who lives on his own really could do with a functioning TV signal.

Yes: it’s official: the communal aerial’s been fixed.

Apparently?   And much as happened in February of this year?

The problem was caused by a loose cable.

Why the cable was loose?

What caused the loose cable?

Is a mystery.

But, given that’s the second time it’s happened, this year?

And has happened a few times, over the years … ?

I know this: it’s going to happen again …

Did I mention that my nephew, Jude, was here, yesterday?

My nephew, Jude, was here, yesterday.

It’s amazing what you can do with copy and paste, isn’t it?

I say that … because Jude’s very fond of a specific sound effect: and makes sure it crops up in everyone one of the videos he makes, here.

As he has in his latest.

If everybody could hit like, then look for the Fail sound to turn up, he’d be grateful … !

Just as a LAST thought … ?

Or possibly two?

Britain’s upcoming local elections are due next Thursday.

And … ?

I had a personal letter from Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform: urging me to vote for them.

My initial response?

He, and they, can bugger off for a start!

Which is when I ripped the thing up, and binned it!

I’m also very aware on the on-going problems the Prime Minister’s facing: over the appointment of Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to the US.

Which has remembered my of a couple of likes from Sir Terry Pratchett’s The Last Continent.

The story follows the adventures of inept wizard, Rincewind, as he tries to get home from XXXX, the Discworld’s equivalent to Australia.

During his journey?

One of the continent’s inhabitants tells Rincewind that the country imprisons its politicians the minute they get elected.

And, when asked, happily tells Rincewind why.

“It saves time.”

Seems sensible to me …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2021.

29th April, 2021.

Well, it’s official: Neil Robertson is now out of this years Snooker World Championship.

Which is a shame.

I’m not the first to mention his fab Lockdown hairdo!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2020.

29th April, 2020.

In the immortal word’s of Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

“Yes … … it’s raining.”

It’s decidedly unpleasant, in other words.

Frankly?

I’m going to have to go out and pick up shopping in this lot!

And, equally as frankly?

I’m not looking forward to it!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-3-2020: Sunday in the Park

22nd March, 2020.

It’s officially official: the world’s a mess.

Or, at least, my hair is.

I think I need a haircut.

We’ll have to see how the budget — and the coronavirus — goes, this month.

One thing I do know … ?

Is that I had dinner, last night.

Complete with some sweet potatoes, rather than regular potatoes: they’re better for those of us with diabetes, I’m told.

I have a burger, with peas, and — instead of all potatoes — a mix of regular and sweet potatoes.

That went well: the ‘replacements’ were definitely sweeter but cooked just as well.

I’ll tell you one thing, though.

Sweet potatoes — at least, these ones — weren’t half difficult to chop up.

If you have a spare chainsaw, I’d appreciate it!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2018

29th April, 2018.

You know …

I have a long day ahead of me, today.

Frankly?

I’ll be starting at eleven, finishing at seven, and getting home by eight.

All this … ?   After getting up at six.

And that’s before you factor in the fact … that I don’t stop until next Sunday!

Given the amount of deductions I get from my wage slip?

I really don’t expect much of the earnings to survive.

But at least I’m working towards paying off all sort of debt.

The Daily Teaser — 30-4-2016: All Jazzed Up …

Now that …

Was a long day …

I have to admit, I was working, yesterday.

From 12 noon, until 9 at night.

And I’m back again, tonight: from 5 until closing time.

I’m (sort of) thankful: as that means I’ve not lost too many hours after falling ill on Wednesday.

Still … ?

I’m thankful the medications helping!

All I need to do now … is remember to have a word about it, when I see my GP.
