Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11th October 2023.

11th October, 2023.

Right … it’s Wednesday.

And … ?

It’s the day after Tuesday: as you’re probably aware, that means my nephew’s posted more videos: including one of Mikey the Rabbit.

Feel free to give them a watch … !

If you’re a Dr Who fan in the UK, you probably very aware that the complete new series has been on the iPlayer — the BBC’s catchup service — for many years.

And that classic Dr Who’s been on Britbox.

I’m usually stream to the digital copies I own, locally.

There’s upsides and downsides to online streaming: the one that annoys me is simply the fact I don’t own physical copies of the media the streamed episodes are on.

But?   I know the new series is there, should anything happen to those copies.

However, something new’s due to happen.

According to an article on the Radio Times’ website?

Both classic and new Dr Who will be shown on the BBC iPlayer, from 1st November, this year.

As will Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures and Class.

I’m glad to hear it: it makes sense to have both under one, BBC managed, roof.

The only downside?

The article doesn’t tell us how foreign fans will be able to access the classic shows: nor what will happen with the missing episodes.

Nor whether the blu-ray releases — with the associated extra content — will continue.

I hope we get to find out.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11th October, 2022.

11th October, 2022.

Right … it’s Tuesday.

Which means it’s the day after Monday: obviously!

Which also means that I’m due in Chelmsford, today: for a meeting with my Restart case worker.

Hopefully?

She’ll have something, job wise, that’ll work out better than the recent one.

That?

Was for an outsourcing company called Capita: one that wanted to hire me for a home working job handling customer calls for Tescos.

This, after the same outsourcing company rejected me for their job, handling calls for PlusNet.

I’d not successfully got through their checks and vetting procedure.

If I take the Capita/Tescos gig?   I’d stand a very good chance of being taken on … and then sacked after finishing the training, for failing the same checks.

Something I managed to explain to my Job Centre case worker, yesterday.   I expected problems, there: but he was surprising sympathetic.

Especially as I pointed out my Restart worker had had told me Capita were ‘… crying out for people.’

The look on his face was a picture: as both he and I knew the phrase ‘crying out for people,’ translates as ‘this company has a stupidly high staff turnover.’

We’ll just have to see what happens.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11th October, 2021.

11th October 2021.

Hmmm …

“Have a nice day.”

“Have a nice day … !”

I’ve just uploaded today’s Teaser video to YouTube, and realised I’ve ended it with the phrase, “Have a nice day.”

And with no sense of irony.

As I’m very aware I’m going to have a sad one.

I’m up early, today: to post this, before my Thelma’s funeral …

Hmmm …

Have a nice day …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11th October, 2018

11th October, 2018.

I’m really starting to worry, there: I’m starting to worry I look slightly more camp in those introductory videos than I intend too.

Oy … !

At ANY rate?

And as I’ve mentioned Because We Want To*?

I’d better pass it along …

At ANY rate … ?

At any rate, the job hunting is turning up a few positions: one or two of which look … interesting.

Which is possibly the best way of putting it.

It’s got to be better than last night.

We had new software installed both on the phones, and on the works computers.

The phones seem to be working well: or well enough.

But logging on to the new computer software we use to track our calls?

Well …

There could’ve been a bit more time taken to shake the bugs out, making sure the damn thing was pointed at the right internal server!

In other news?

I think I’m going to have to head for town, later: before I go to work.

The Brentwood Gazette has published a brief chat I had with Piers Meyler, their Local Democracy correspondent.

With yours truly.

I’ll have to do a clipping of the article, as it’s not online … !
