Stranger Things — Series 5: Chapter 2 — The Vanishing Of Holly Weaver — A Review

13th February, 2026.
“The Vanishing Of Holly Weaver”.
An Introduction.

Last week, I started watching series five of Stranger Things.

On Saturday night.

Just in case you were interested in either reading my written review, or watching the video version.

You’re still welcome to do both.

I’m also very aware that I said I’d be watching the next episode, “The Vanishing Of Holly Weaver”, tomorrow night, and have my written and video reviews up by Tuesday.

But … ?

I think I’m nephew-sitting, tomorrow: so I’m going to watch the episode, tonight … then have my reviews (hopefully) by Monday.

Keep your eyes peeled!

Just as a side-step … ?

If you’ve read today’s Daily Teaser quiz — or yesterday’s, come to that matter — will be aware of … the Toaster Situation … !

It’s a bit too complicated to go into, here: so let me just tell you I’ve got a new toaster, due.

One that turned up, today: and works!

Good gum drops!

Stranger Things — Series 4 Chapter 2 — Vecna’s Curse — A Review

5th July, 2022.

Did I ever mention that today — the day I started this post? — is 5th July, 2022?

It’s 5th July, 2022.

And a few things are happening.

I’ve had a repair man down: to look at my washing machine.

He’s back next Tuesday: complete with the relevant part.

I’m also listening to the News: very aware that (former) Health Secretary, Sajid Javid and (former) Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, have resigned their posts.

Sunak going is a worry.

He’s authorised a £650 payment to those of us in need: half this month, and half in the autumn.

Frankly?

Will it go through?   Given the man who organised it has handed in his notice?

I’m blowed if I know, but it is a worry.

At any rate?

It’s Tuesday.

And?

I’m going to be sitting in front of my TV, watching the second episode of Stranger Things, series four.

Hopefully?

Vecna’s Curse will live up to the promise of The Hellfire Club.

The Mandalorian — Series 1 Chapter 2 — The Child — A Review

31st July, 2020.

It has to be said, I spent a lot of lunch time, feeling numb.

Or, at least, numbest … and slightly floaty.

As I had a tooth out, today.

After four anaesthetic injections!

My jaw’s still slightly sore, even now.

But … ?

I have no wobbly tooth!

At any rate … ?

It’s Friday.   I’ve had a wisdom tooth out.   I’ve had a delivery from Amazon: an ice box, if you must know.

And … ?

I wanted to catch some TV.

And, yes: assuming you saw the initial post I’ve done about the series?

You’ve worked out I’ve watched another episode of The MandalorianSeries 1.

Star Trek Discovery — Episode 10: Despite Yourself.

8th January, 2018.

There’s several things I think any of us look forward to.

When you think about it.

A good meal.

A — to paraphrase a ship name from Iain M. Banks — new lover’s arrival.

The chance to use the loo when you really need to.

There’s stuff you have to hang around for, in other words.

Personally?

I’m very aware we have to wait until autumn for the next series of Dr Who.

Something I know I want to see.

But I’m also aware I’ve had to wait — since November of last year — for the next episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

That wait?

Ended tonight: when I finally caught Despite Yourself, the tenth episode of the show’s first series*.

Yes: I think it was worth the wait.

Stranger Things: Episode 1 and 2 — Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers and Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street

9th March, 2017

You know, last night?

Last night I have to confess: I watched Nosferatu.

The old German silent film?

Generally considered a masterpiece: but one I felt unimpressed by.

I might have to give it another go, at some point.

When I’m a little less tired, perhaps.

On a night like tonight, in other words.

Well, I could’ve done.

I didn’t.

I thought I should maybe catch up with some of the TV shows I’ve had sitting around in my collection, and assorted wish lists.

Frankly?   I seriously fancied series 2 of Mr Robot: as I was impressed by the first series.

I’ve ALSO got the first five series of American Horror Story.

But really didn’t fancy running a (metaphorical) marathon.

Even thought at last one old friend tells me it’s worth watching.

No … I fancied going lightweight: after the Sturm und Drang of Mr Robot.

I fancied … Winona Ryder … an 1980s setting … kids on bicycles … Netflix … !

I fancied …
