Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May 2026. (Six questions)

21st May, 2026: Six Questions.

Right … it’s officially Thursday: and the day before another pay day.

Frankly?

That means more bill paying, more shopping … and more chances to sneakily buy stuff on Amazon.

I’ve got my eye on the 4k version of the old Dr Who TV movie from the late 1990s.

A 4k set that, inevitably, will get the treatment.

Whether I do or don’t get it?

It’ll be interesting to see what the extras are like: if they’re an improvement on the ones in the 2k version I got a few years ago.

~≈Ω≈~

Just as a last thought … ?

I’ve got a review in the works: of the last episode of Good Omens.

Hopefully?

That’ll be coherent!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May, 2025.

21st May, 2025.

Right … it’s now Tuesday …

Sorry, it’s now Wednesday!

You can tell I haven’t woken up, yet, can’t you … ?

At any rate, something I meant to mention, yesterday, was simply this.

That — going by my weight management meeting on Monday — my weight hasn’t gone down.

But also hasn’t gone up.

So … ?

That’s a result.

You’re possibly aware that both the Co-op, and Marks and Spencers, have been hit by ransomware attack.

And, whilst the Co-op seems to have got off lightly, M&S are still having issues.

Apparently?

They estimate their services won’t be fully online until July.

On the upside for both companies?

Police say they’re investigating some English speaking suspects.

Hopefully … ?

The police can get the suspects, quickly!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-5-2024 — International Tea Day.

21st May, 2024.

Right then … it’s Tuesday!

And, frankly?

I’ve got I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue on in the background.

Where Tony Hawks has just murdered the Communards version of “Don’t Leave Me This Way”.

Dearie, dearie me … !

~≈¥≈~

Can I admit to being in something of a doomy mood, today?

I’ve had mental images of nuclear war going through my head: not helped by having the Annihilation mix of “Two Tribes” on in the background.

I have to say, after seeing Threads?

The Patrick Allen speeches are no longer the funny Mickey-take I thought they were in the 1980s.

They’re terrifying*.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May 2023.

21st May, 2023.

Arrrrrghg … !

Bloody YouTube did it again!

Played Silly B˜ggers with a playlist.

I swear I’m going to heist to Vimo, one of these days!

~≈X≈~

At ANY rate … ?

It’s a Sunday.

That means I’m going to be visiting my usual chemists: to pick up the medications they could do me …

After heading up for the other chemists, yesterday, to pick up the Ozempic …

The walk?   Will possibly do me good.

Or burn off some frustration!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May, 2022

21st May, 2022.

It’s officially Saturday.

You know that: you’ve looked at your calendar!

For me … ?

It’s going to be a quiet day: there’s going to be a certain amount of thumb twiddling going on!

Thumb twiddling … and probably laundry.

Hey ho!

~≈Ω≈~

I do know that’s going to involve money.

Or, at least, the few pounds I’ve managed to put onto my electricity meter.

Listening to Radio 4’s Today programme got vaguely relevant, there: telling us there were calls for an emergency budget.

Something Tory MPs voted against, a couple of days ago.

The programme’s also told us that Chancellor Rishi Sunak and his wife have been included in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List.

I don’t know.

But, to me?

The man who could have helped some of the poorest in the country is one of the richest people in the UK?

The man who could have helped some of the poorest in the country by doing something comparatively simple?

The man who could have done much for the poorest in the UK is — from where I’m sitting — worthless.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May, 2021.

21st May, 2021.

Right, I’m up early: because I’ve got a hospital appointment, today.

For an endoscopy.

I’m not looking forward to it: but once it’s done, it’s done.

I can then start worrying the results.

Hopefully, it’s nothing more serious than piles …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-5-2020: Slavery

21st May, 2020

Yes: it is, in theory, payday tomorrow.

The system’s automated: so hopefully it’ll go through this little in the way of problems.

Although it’s always something I worry about.

Saying that … ?

I may just have enough cash, after my bills are paid, and shopping’s done, to treat myself to a book or two.

~≈¥≈~

Talking of which … ?

I’ve been cataloguing my books collection over the past few weeks.

And found I’d forgotten I had the first edition of The Making Of Doctor Who: first published in 1972!

It’s possibly not worth much: but it’s nice to know I have it.

Even if it does say the Doctor’s real name is ∂³∑𝔁².

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May, 2019.

21st May, 2019.

Yes, it’s true: I’ve finally started watching series three of El Ministerio del Tiempo.

Which is looking as good as ever: and had Alfred Hitcock in it.

I never knew the San

Although the sad bit is … ?

They’ve killed off Julián … !

That’s a terrible shame: the Rodolfo Sanchez character’s been the show’s emotional core for the past two years.

Still, if he ’s ever needed … ?

Wibbley wobbley, timey wimey …

~≈§≈~

Did I tell you I was in Basildon, yesterday?   At Basildon Hospital?

Nothing too serious, as yet: I just have a scan or two to arrange.

At any rate, on the bus back?

I flicked through the various news channels on. my phone.

And couldn’t help notice a few stories going past.

With the date coming — next year — that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7, the government  of South Korea are looking at not using Windows 10: but using a version of Linux.

On the grounds of cost.

Good for them: I’ve often felt something like this would be good for people — it gets them familiar with the alternatives to Windows — good for government, if it keeps costs down.   And — on that same basis — good for you and me as tax payers.

Whether they’ll do it, I don’t know: I certainly hope so.

What gets me?

Is that, before becoming Chancellor, George Osborne made a big fuss about getting more open source software into Westminster.

We’ve heard nothing since.

So I’m assuming the Tory government he was part of, never followed through.

Which is mildly disgusting: especially with the amount of cuts most Conservative governments like to do.

But … ?

Well, I know Brexit is chewing up more time than any one could have foreseen.

But given that deadline, in 2020?   Now would be a good time to start a panic …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May, 2018

21st May, 2018.

Yes: it’s officially Monday morning.

You can tell, can’t you … ?   It’s the calendar that’s the big clue!

It’s a Monday … and the day after a day off: one where I managed to catch the last episode of American Horror Story. series 5, Hotel.

Which was … rather good: or, at least, at lot better than I managed to paint it, in last night’s write up.

I have to admit, Denis O’Hare, and Kathy Bates stood out for me.

Although I have to admit, given that last episode was called Be Our Guest?

I have this mental image of the pair doing a version of the Beauty and the Beast tune …

Although Kathy Bates as a singing teapot is … um …

Yeah …

~≈§≈~

Just as a thought … ?

The Prime Minister, Theresa May, is due to make a speech, later: and state her believe that artificial intelligence — AI — can be used to help in dealing with cancer.

Which is all well and good, I think: and certainly gives AI a bit of free, positive, advertising.

My only problem?   Is that I know how governments tend to keep up with technology.   It’s taken a while for the various law making bodies to debate letting people copy songs from their CDs to their iPods.

Still not fully arranged, even now.

So my feeling?

Yes: government support for developing AI is good.

But I get the feeling there’s a lot of medical dat already being used for exactly that purpose.

I think the honourable Prime minister should keep up.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-5-2017

I’ve got a weekend off.

Well …

Not a weekend: I’ve got today and tomorrow off.

Frankly?

I’ve seriously got to get laundry done.

Possibly eat.

I might just shop.

Do some writing.

But I THINK the important bit?

Is putting my feet up, and watching TV.

Frankly?

I want catch with Dr Who: this week’s episode looks good, from the little I’ve seen of it.

Equally frankly?

I’m thorough enjoying Mr Robot …

And feel impressed with myself: I recognised one of the on-screen Terminal* commands … !!

The Daily Teaser — 21-5-2016

Oh, LORD, but my eyeballs feel fantastic.

Mind you, there’s a reason for that.

The simple fact that I was up, late, last night: after finishing work at 12:30.

Don’t you just love shift work?

I do … sometimes.

Then again?

I finished at 12:30: and looking at a 12 ’til 9:30, today.

Lord knows what I’m going to feel like in the morning …
