Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April 2026.

29th April, 2026.

It’s officially a truth that’s universally acknowledged: a single man who lives on his own really could do with a functioning TV signal.

Yes: it’s official: the communal aerial’s been fixed.

Apparently?   And much as happened in February of this year?

The problem was caused by a loose cable.

Why the cable was loose?

What caused the loose cable?

Is a mystery.

But, given that’s the second time it’s happened, this year?

And has happened a few times, over the years … ?

I know this: it’s going to happen again …

Did I mention that my nephew, Jude, was here, yesterday?

My nephew, Jude, was here, yesterday.

It’s amazing what you can do with copy and paste, isn’t it?

I say that … because Jude’s very fond of a specific sound effect: and makes sure it crops up in everyone one of the videos he makes, here.

As he has in his latest.

If everybody could hit like, then look for the Fail sound to turn up, he’d be grateful … !

Just as a LAST thought … ?

Or possibly two?

Britain’s upcoming local elections are due next Thursday.

And … ?

I had a personal letter from Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform: urging me to vote for them.

My initial response?

He, and they, can bugger off for a start!

Which is when I ripped the thing up, and binned it!

I’m also very aware on the on-going problems the Prime Minister’s facing: over the appointment of Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to the US.

Which has remembered my of a couple of likes from Sir Terry Pratchett’s The Last Continent.

The story follows the adventures of inept wizard, Rincewind, as he tries to get home from XXXX, the Discworld’s equivalent to Australia.

During his journey?

One of the continent’s inhabitants tells Rincewind that the country imprisons its politicians the minute they get elected.

And, when asked, happily tells Rincewind why.

“It saves time.”

Seems sensible to me …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April 2025.

29th April, 2025.

Right …

It’s the day after.

“What?”, I hear you cry.

It’s the day after yesterday.

Which possibly means a lot: but there you go.

~≈⚡️≈~

I do know regular reader, Olga, lives in Spain: and got hit by yesterday’s power cuts.

She’s safe: as power is being re-connected.

Quite why the Cut happened?

No one seems sure.

I’d love to know what caused it: as, I suspect would Olga, and the rest of the Iberian Peninsula.

But … ?

I suspect it’s going to be a while before we find out …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29-4-2024 — International Dance Day

29th April, 2024: International Dance Day.

🎵La la🎶 … Monday, Monday … !

Yes: it’s officially Monday.

Which is a cue to start singing, obviously.

But is also a cue to get up early.

Yes: it’s weight management day, again, today.

Hopefully?

Putting sweeteners in my tea will have made a difference.

There’s rumours.

Of course there’s rumours!

Especially when technology company, Apple, is involved.

Especially when you consider the company’s announced an Apple event for 7th May, this year.

Inevitably?

There’s speculation that new M4 chips will feature: in either new models of iPads, or in new Macs.

That family of chips could well be interesting.

I’m using an M2 Mac mini: and, problems aside, the machine does seem fast.

An M4 could well be a serious improvement.

About my only suggestion?

Is about the internal hard-drive.

Apple currently retails most of their consumer models — the MacBook Air, the iMac and the Mac mini — with 256gb solid state drives.

Which are OK … if you’re doing light work.

But, as far as I’m concerned, aren’t necessarily large enough for heavier use.

I can only hope that if Apple does introduce whizzy new chips?

That they increase hard drive size in their baseline models, as well.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April 2023.

29th April, 2023.

Yes: OK …

Since I got The cost of Living payment, earlier this month?

Most of it’s gone.

There’s a chunk of it on my gas and electricity meters.

Some’s been spent on shopping.

A few quid on … some comics!

And … ?

Some teatowels!

Frankly, the ones I have either need a wash … or a decent funeral!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2022.

29th April, 2022.

Right …

I picked up some more medications, yesterday.

I’m on a few: the older I get, the iller I get.

At any rate … ?   I’ve been provision put on a course of injections: to help, both with my weight, and with the diabetes I suffer with.

A couple of weeks early: I’ve not yet had the training that shows me how to inject myself.

On top of that?

The stuff has a worrying amount of side effects!

Thankfully, it’s a short course: or, at least, I’ve only got five does.

I’m just hoping I only need to be on for a while.

Here’s hoping.

~≈💉≈~

Yes: it’s Friday.

Which means that, yes: yesterday was Thursday.

Which means … ?   Yes: Jude’s done some more videos.

This is turning into a regular thing …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2021.

29th April, 2021.

Well, it’s official: Neil Robertson is now out of this years Snooker World Championship.

Which is a shame.

I’m not the first to mention his fab Lockdown hairdo!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2020.

29th April, 2020.

In the immortal word’s of Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

“Yes … … it’s raining.”

It’s decidedly unpleasant, in other words.

Frankly?

I’m going to have to go out and pick up shopping in this lot!

And, equally as frankly?

I’m not looking forward to it!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2019.

29th April, 2019.

Yes, it’s true: we’ve found something out!

I think I’ve mentioned this before: but don’t quote me on that!   My memory’s as fallible as anything else, these days …

At ANY rate …

I think I’ve mentioned that my nephew, Jude, asked I could install a game called Forza Street on his mother’s computer.

Alongside Fortnite Battle Royale.

We managed to get it installed: only for Ruth and Jude to find later, that the game kept crashing.

~≈§≈~

Which Jude found a little disappointing, to say the least.

But … ?

The least I could do was have a look, last night — Sunday’s is usually the big family dinner night — at Ruth’s computer, to see what could be the issue.

As it turned out … ?

The big problem was simply the respective games’ minimum requirements.

With — at least in the case of Forza Street — the processor speed causing serious issues.

Well …

At least we know what to look for: and can possibly persuade Jude that having a word with Santa about possibly Xboxes may be an idea.

Frankly, though … ?

For someone more familiar with macOS, than Windows, finding the specifications is a fiddly job*!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2018

29th April, 2018.

You know …

I have a long day ahead of me, today.

Frankly?

I’ll be starting at eleven, finishing at seven, and getting home by eight.

All this … ?   After getting up at six.

And that’s before you factor in the fact … that I don’t stop until next Sunday!

Given the amount of deductions I get from my wage slip?

I really don’t expect much of the earnings to survive.

But at least I’m working towards paying off all sort of debt.

The Friday — 29-4-2016

Bleugh …

I think I can safely say a few things.

A cocoa would be good, right now.

As — possibly — would a shower.

Although that’s possibly debatable.

I’ll happily make do with a footpath and a cup of tea: and some Muddy Waters, in the background.

Lordy …

But you’d assume I’ve been at work all, all day, wouldn’t you … ?

Ahem … !

~≈†≈~

The Daily Teaser — 29-4-2016

Hmmm …

I’m off back to work, today.

And frankly … ?

Looking forward to it, despite the fact it’s a very long shift.

It’s ALSO kind of sad: as one co-worker’s leaving, today.

One who’d joined up at the same time I did.

Which is mildly mind boggling: as I’ve said, Kelly joined on the same day as me.

Seeing her go is both sad …

And a spur for me to keep my eyes open.

Either way … ?

I’ll be sorry to see her go: and hope her new job goes well for her.
