I’ve had not a blessed sausage.

Not even a vegetarian one!

It’s depressing, to be honest.

I’m coping, I’m looking forward to eventually landing a job … 

But, lord, it’s hard work!

I’ve been able to keep myself occupied.

I don’t have much money: but do have a collection of movies, sitting around: ripped from the occasional DVD, and blu-ray.

And able to rent and streaming both the occasional TV show … and the occasional movie.

The latter is something I’ve done, tonight.

Yes: I’ve watched a movie that’s been in my collection for a while.

The 2017 film, The Death of Stalin.

Star Trek Discovery — Episode 13: What’s Past is Prologue

More TV it decidedly is.

OK, OK, I could easily end up heading out.

But not having that much cash?   And living at the bottom of a hill?

There’s nowhere I’m in a rush to go to, especially.

On top of that … ?

Well … 

I was working last night.

Which is nice, certainly: it certainly pays for dinner.

Which I’ve been having a BIT too much of, recently.

At ANY rate, that’s beside the point.

Frankly?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been riveted by the sheer geeky joys of Star Trek: Discovery.

Especially when you consider that the TV show I’ve watched, tonight?

Is another episode of the latest member of a franchise that’s been going … for five decades.

Yes, you’ve watched the intro, haven’t you?

You know perfectly well I’ve tonight’s episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

And, yes: this series is looking good.

I’ve figured out that the mic works … occasionally, it seems.

But at least enough to record some video of yours truly, actually asking quiz questions: rather than relying on slideshows.

Trust me, it’s not especially clever, or pretty.

But is starting to … you know … give me a taste for the camera.

Star Trek Discovery — Episode 10: Despite Yourself.

There’s several things I think any of us look forward to.

When you think about it.

A good meal.

A — to paraphrase a ship name from Iain M. Banks — new lover’s arrival.

The chance to use the loo when you really need to.

There’s stuff you have to hang around for, in other words.

Personally?

I’m very aware we have to wait until autumn for the next series of Dr Who.

Something I know I want to see.

But I’m also aware I’ve had to wait — since November of last year — for the next episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

That wait?

Ended tonight: when I finally caught Despite Yourself, the tenth episode of the show’s first series*.

Yes: I think it was worth the wait.

Star Trek Discovery — Episode 9: Into The Forest I Go

Right now, I’m intent on just …

I’m intent on writing the quickest post I possibly can.

Before I hit the sack.

Four o’clock start, don’t you know?

But I had to tell you: I’ve seen episode nine of Star Trek Discovery.

And, while I don’t see the point in a mid-season hiatus — especially on what, after all, is a purely online TV series — I’m actually looking for January: when CBS are releasing episode 10.

But … ?

Star Trek Discovery — Episode 8: Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum

6th November, 2017.

You know, I’m staring to worry about myself.

Which is possibly putting it mildly.

Possibly mildly, at any rate.

I’ve started to notice I’m … 

Well, feeling a lot more tired than usual.

Whether that’s the usual sense of jet-lag I get — from when the clocks change — or something more serious?

I couldn’t tell you.

I’m glad I’ve got an appointment booked with my GP in a couple of weeks: at least I can chew it over with her*.   She’s ALSO the only doctor who managed to diagnose my under-active thyroid: for that, I’m grateful, and ALSO thinking she’d be able to spot anything else. 

Frankly?

The fact is, I’m starting to notice that — sometimes — when I do have these tired phases?

I notice sweets — chocolates, jelly babies, what-have-you — seem to provide a cheap lift.

Quite what that means, is beyond me.

But it’s not something my dentist would enjoy hearing.

It’s possibly more work for her!

Which reminds me: I have a dentist appoint, first thing on Thursday morning.

For an hour.

It’s not something I’m worried about, just yet: although I’ve a sneaking suspicion it’s going to hurt.

If that can do something about the toothache I suspect is ALSO contributing to my feeling of sleeplessness?

The better for me.

At any rate, tonight?   A night off … ?

I wanted a TV show.

I wanted Star Trek: Discovery.

I wanted Episode 8 of the first half of this first series.

I’ve been up since Monday morning: have arranged a dental appointment, been to work, come home — at just gone eleven — and managed to watch the most recent episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

Possibly not the best thing for someone my age to be doing.

But … ?

Well, it’s Monday night.

And Monday night Star Trek is a thing.

I’m feeling very tired.   After all, I was up at four, this morning: posting today’s Daily Teaser, and getting ready for work.

But I didn’t want to get to bed, early, tonight … 

Without catching a TV show.

And then telling you about it.

Yes … that’s right … 

I’ve watched another episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

Star Trek: Discovery — Episode 5 — Choose Your Pain.

16th October, 2017.

You know … I have had a long — long — day at work.

Mostly involving me being up at four, to get in at nine: then work until five, this evening.

So it possibly doesn’t help that I’m still up: instead of doing what someone sensible would do, and getting more slepp.

Slepp?

Sleep!

Frankly?

I’m not going to worry too much, though.

For starters, seeing the sky on the way home, tonight?

Was quite something.

I managed to walk from work, to Chelmsford Station, got the train from there to Shenfield, then the Shenfield to Brentwood train, THEN the walk from Brentwood station to my flat … 

Not under a blood red sky, but under one described as a kind of dijon mustard colour.

A dirty yellow-tinged grey from Chelmsford to Brentwood: and a more lemony yellow — not so much cloud cover, don’t you know — going from Brentwood Station to my home.

A mix of smoke heading north: from Portuguese and Spanish, wildfires … 

And the effects, however distantly felt, of what’s left of Hurricane Ophelia.

Quite something to see, that!

It’s a Monday.

A Monday …

The most romantic day of the week: one filled with roses of a shade so red as to be called carmine, with the lush scent of honeysuckle wafting across one’s nose in the warm breeze: with starlight gently gleaming in the background, as lovers walk along a clifftop, in search of new trysting ground, taking a simple joy in each other’s company as a new day dawns.

Yeah … 

I’m going to have to have a lot less sugar in my tea, aren’t I?

I’ve only been watching episode 4 of Star Trek: Discovery, after all!

And, yes … 

It’s looking good!

Even if the episode’s title is complicated … !

You know, I’ve seen next week’s rota, at my regular job.

Really.

It’s been seriously chopped down.

I’m … 

Well, let’s just say I’m not surprised.

In theory?

I’m down to two shifts, this week, and three, the next.

Any one who knows me, well?   Can imagine how I feel.

Partly resigned to losing a job I like.

Partly nervous and expectant.   I had a job interview last Thursday, for a position very local to me.   I’ve still not heard about it.   I don’t want to raise my expectations: and then not get it.

And … ?

Damn good and angry, to be honest!   After all, going from being able to be pay for oneself — albeit by watching my budget, very carefully — to seriously struggling?

The upside?

The upside is that I’ve plenty of time to write.

Both the Teasers that I know people enjoy.

AND job letters: I need to find something.

It also means I have to occupy myself with something.

Frankly?

I’ve a lot of TV box sets I’d like to catch up on.

One of those?   Is the recent Netflix/CBS All Access series that is … 

Star Trek: Discovery.

Going by the first three episodes?

I think the latest entry in the franchise looks good.
