It’s officially Hump Day!

The day that’s officially in the middle of the week!

But you knew that!

At any rate … ?

I’m expecting it to be quiet: apart from my my nephew pops over.

We can possibly expect more vides of Mikey the Rabbit.

I have to admit, I’m a bit of an Apple fan.

And was very aware of their product event, yesterday.

What caught my attention … ?

Was the new range of iPad Pros: complete with fancy fancy displays, some new software — Final Camera would let users co-ordinate four iOS camera in a multi camera set up — and various other bits and bobs.

These new devices … ?

Now come with the newly released M4 chip.

A system-on-a-chip that Apple tells us is a significant improvement on the M2 that I have in my recent model Mac mini.

About my only concern?

Is that some of Apple’s slides at the event?

Seem to imply the M4 is significantly faster than the M2 at recoding AV1 videos*.

Which — as afar as I know — is a bit of a non-sequitur.

As the M2, and M1, chips can’t deal with the format in hardware!

Right … it’s now Bank Holiday Monday.

And … ?

I think we can safely say the Coronation is all over, bar the screaming.

Oh, and the volunteering.

And the hanging around, waiting for the new currency to turn up.

Frankly?

I gave the concert a miss: in favour of watching a movie.

I wonder which one I saw … …

It’s official: Brentwood West, the council ward I live in in?

Now has William Russell, a Conservative, as councillor: and has rejected Karen Chilvers, the Liberal Democrat councillor.

I’d’ve preferred a Green Councillor, and couldn’t vote Tory if you paid me.   But Wil’s pleasant enough.

I’m just grateful Karen Chilvers is out of her post: she, it seems, is the person responsible for organising leaflet deliveries in the area.

Something I’m distinctly angry about, having had three very unwanted leaflets, over the past few weeks.

That … ?

And the fact she was on the Council planning committee that made a mess of the local mobile phone mast?

Makes me grateful she’s gone.

As a brief extra thought … ?

I’m jobhunting, at the moment: and signed up to various job agencies websites.

One — called Indeed — sent me a warning email, this morning.

It seems one job I applied for — for a company calling itself Rapid Recruit — has been flagged by Indeed’s security team: and a message sent out to any one that’s applied.

Warning us to NOT hand over any further details.

And that we should not pay for a job.

Sound like whoever’s using the Rapid Recruit name is just a little suspicious …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-5-2020: VE Day.

It has to be said, there’s sadness in the musical world, over the past few days.

Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk was one.

Yesterday saw the death of noted rapper, Ty.

Who I know little of, but just just enough to know he was well thought of.   And who died at the age of 47.    That’s younger than I am!

The death that seriously saddened me?

Was the death, yesterday, of Sweetpea Atkinson, one of two front men for Was Not Was: possibly one of my favourite bands.

Sweetpea?

Where ever you are, mate, sing Crazy Water …

The Daily Teaser — 8-5-2015

Well, it’s official.

We now have a Tory government in the UK.

Frankly?   Well, frankly, and personally, I’m not surprised.

Either at Tory winnings.   Or the Labour defeat.

I’m pleasantly surprised that the Scottish Nationalists have done as well as they have: they’ve taken 56 seats out of 59.   Which means that they will hold huge influence in Westminster.

And will hopefully do a lot of good, there.

The non-surprise for me?

Is how badly the Liberal Democrats have done: they’ve lost some 46 or so seats, on the current figures.

I’m very unsurprised.   I’m a lifelong Lib-dem voter.   One who, this time around, could not vote Liberal Democrat.

They slept with the enemy.

I couldn’t vote Liberal Democrat, after that.   Neither, it seems, could many others.

Elections are like that: they’re the one guaranteed form of karma, going.
