Right: I’m officially up, early … 

Again … 

I’ve got a hygienist appointment.

Which is good: my teeth are starting to itch.

The reason I was up, early, yesterday?

Was an appointment with a podiatric surgeon.

I’ve a only left though: and felt getting a surgeon’s opinion would be helpful.

His view?

Was that surgery would be useful: were it causing any more pain than it was.

Given it wasn’t, he felt surgery wouldn’t be a good idea.

So he’s writing to my GP, to tell her that: AND to tell her that the problem with my gait is further up the leg.

So I’ve ended up with something.

Yes: it’s official: my nephew, Jude, was over.

Which was definitely an enjoyable afternoon.

Especially when we found this video:

I take it you follow the news?

I do.

And, like many of us, are shocked when a school shooting occurs in the US.

And usually felt it couldn’t get much worse: until this morning.

When news came through that a schoolgirl, aged around 11 or 12 — not that much older than Jude — shot three people at her school in Idaho.

The USA is a civilised, technologically advanced, country: my two US regulars, Debbi and Edith, are testament to that.

But it’s constitutionally backed gun laws, gun laws that allow a twelve year old child to shoot people at her school?

Need changing.

Right … Will Riker.

The entirely fictional First Officer of the USS Enterprise … and a character I watch for years.

Frankly?   A character who I would have killed to see interacting with Commander Raffi Musiker, in Star Trek Picard.

№.1 and №.1?   I should say so.

That’s going a little sideways … 

My point … ?   Is simply that, just recently?   Whenever Will Riker pops into my head?

I start thinking of the theme tune to Roger Ramjet.

Just as a quick thought?

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll have realised we’ve had issues, recently!

Thankfully, things are a little quieter.

Equally thankfully?

The landlords, Clarion Housing, are due to make permanent repairs to the upstairs windows … 

And, as I’ve pointed it out … ?

They’ve agreed to put a plate over the lock on the main building of the door.

I don’t think it’s going to stop everyone.

But, hopefully, it should slow them down.

It’s interview day.

I’ve got an official interview, at a restaurant in Brentwood High Street.

I’m … 

Well, I’ve got flat shirts: that’s no problem.

I’ve got trousers.   Shoes have at least been wiped.

Clean socks and undies are available.

About my only issue … ?

Is my head: I’ve got a little part of my head telling me not to go … !
