Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4-6-2024 — When Two Tribes Go To War.

4th June, 2024: When Two Tribes Go To War.

Well …

It’s Tuesday … !

Which means I’ll be Jude sitting, later.

There’s a possibility of rabbits, I know that!

~≈¥≈~

Oh, now that’s sad!

A child was found abandoned, earlier this year: one named Elsa by medical staff, as she was found in very cold temperatures.

In news, today … ?

It turns out Baby Elsa is a full sibling of two other abandoned children — known as Harry and Roman — found in 2017 and 2019.

Those two earlier children have been adopted: Elsa herself, is in foster care.

I can only hope the children’s birth parents are found.

They obviously need help … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11-5-2024 — Eurovision ’24

11th May, 2024: Eurovision.

Right then … it’s Saturday … !

And … ?

In case you’ve not noticed, today is the date for the final of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest.

There’s a couple of points, there.

One … ?

I like the Irish entry: despite thinking Barbie Thug looks like an animated Bratz doll!

Two … ?

I’m not necessarily going to be watching.

I want to concentrate on Doctor Who.

The first two episodes air, tonight: I want to review those!

~≈🤩≈~

Talking of reviews?

I finished my most recent reviews of Star Trek Discovery’s most recent episode.

I hope you enjoy them.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29-11-2020: I Want To Hold Your Hand.

29th November, 2020.

It’s got to said, I’ve woken up to issues.

It turns out that some videos — ones I directly upload to a post, and represented by the blue square in the accompanying picture — don’t play.

Or, at least, haven’t played for a couple of days.

I got tipped off about it by both Trevor and Debbi, when they left they’re answers on yesterday’s Teaser: thanking you both.

I’ve filled out the relevant forms in Google’s online Help form: and posted a question on the Google Communities.

We’ll have to see how that goes.

At any rate … ?

If you’re reading this, could you let me know which one of the above videos plays?

I’d appreciate it.

~≈Â≈~

At any rate, and on other fronts … ?

I’ve noticed the rather sad news about the death of actor and bodybuilder, Dave Prowse.

At 6’6”?   The man was a giant.

But also left an impression in other ways.

As a bodyguard …

As the Green Cross Code Man …

And, of course, as Darth Vader …

He’ll be much missed …

Gris Gris -- Dr John

25th April, 2020.

It has to be said, I've been writing this blog for a long time, now.

Twelve years or so: you can read that first post, here.

Often enough that getting stuck in a video making rut can be …

Well …
Doubleplusunfun, to paraphrase Orwell.

At any rate … ?

I'm not getting tired of watching a good film, or TV shows.

I just wanted to tell you there's other stuff on my hard drive.

Love Songs.

21st April, 2020.

OK, sue me.

For once?

I actually fancied watching a film …

But simultaneously … ?   Simultaneously not watching one.

If that makes sense?

Much as I really do fancy catching the Italian version of Reanimator -- made in 2017, and called Herbert West - Re-Animator -- I also fancied an early night.

But also fancied breaking the rules, a little, and blogging … without making a video, for once.

Ding Dong: The Complaint’s Are Up

Well, well, well …

It’s seems Radio 1’s chart show ISN’T going to be playing a potential № 1.

I’m vaguely offended about that.

No, seriously … !

Just so you know, the former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher died on Monday.

And, given the woman’s divisive time in post — even more divisive than Tony Blair or George W Bush — there’s many who’ve spoken both for and against.

I’m no fan of the woman, to be frank, even though there’s possibly some good she may have done, somewhere.

Somewhere.

At ANY rate … ?

At ANY rate, the past few days have seen a sudden surge in sales of Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead — from the soundtrack of The Wizard Of Oz — to celebrate her passing.

I’ll happily admit, I’m offended.

NOT, I should add by the song’s release, OR by the reasoning for it zooming up the charts.

It may — as Nick Clegg has said — be offensive to some.

It may well — or may well not — be a good song.

No.

I’m vaguely offended by the fact that Radio 1’s controller, Ben Cooper, has decided to only play a part of the song, if it’s charted by Sunday.

Only SLIGHTLY more of it than another famously banned song.

I’m very aware that there’s a grieving family out there: very aware, and my thoughts and condolences are with them.

But to only play part of Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead … ?  Of a record that’s been bought by the public … ?

Well …

I can’t help but think it’s both stupid and ridiculous …

Sunshine: Just as a thought …

Hmmm …

Now THERE’s a thing …

Do you remember me telling you — quite some time ago — about my mate, Kelly … ?

Bless her, I’ve known Kelly a while, and known — for about as long — that Kelly’s been known to have the odd warble.

Which is possibly not doing her singing justice … !

I’ve got to admit, after seeing Kelly singing at a local open mike night, at local pub, I rather cheekily — I thought — told her she had a voice that was like getting “… rogered by a tub of chocolate moussé”.

Kelly, as it turned out, was flattered.

Actually, this isn’t the time to say that Vix — who did my pub quiz posters, back in the day, — had the kind of singing voice I’d happily marry and have kids with. Kelly’s on the other hand, is one I wanna have an affair with, after I saw it dancing on a table in a nightclub somewhere … … !

Yeah …

Possibly not the time … … … …

»»•««

But, at any rate, something I asked Kelly as a result of seeing some of her stuff on Sounds Awesome … ?

Was whether she’d mind me posting up a song she’d written, called Sunshine.

Gotta admit, I was expecting a polite, “Thanks, but no thanks”.

But as it turned out, Kelly said yes.

And, like any musician keen to have their material heard, didn’t mind at all: and also keen to see how any video I could put together for her would work.

Here … …

Let us know what you think …

You also watch it, here, on Kelly’s Sound’s Awesome page … !

Bob Dylan, Birthday Boy …

Oh, blimey …

Couldn’t I just kick meself … ?

Well …

I could.

But I suspect I’d probably miss …

»»•««

Mostly were I missed out on one thing …

It’s Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday.

See what I mean … ?

How did I miss that one … ?

I mean, running the Teaser’s for the past 3 oh so years should’ve maybe given me a clue …

But at any rate, the least I can do is remedy that …

By posting a Bob Dylan tune, up.

Enjoy …

A Tune, or two … !

Bless her, a little while back, Debbi mention the amount of new and different music she’d been introduced to, as a result of blogging.

I think I know what she means!

Bless, I’ve just been chatting to Patrice — someone I know through Facebook — about all sorts of things.

As a result … ?

Well, as a result, Frank Zappa’s Valley Girl got a mention.

Patrice, bless her, was surprised!

By the fact it really was possibly the only Zappa tune I’d heard!

And managed to introduce me to this one he did on the US version of Saturday Night Live, a few years ago.

Now I don’t know if it was done in the same studio as this

But both are great tunes!

»»•««

Oh, just had a dig around on YouTube, by the way.

Exactly how diverse did Zappa get … ?

This is one of his …

As is the Musique Concreté sound-track for this cough-drop commercial … !

And I always thought Terry Pratchett was prolific … !
