I’m job hunting, at the moment.
And, like many … ?
Happily receiving the £20 uplift the government introduced during the COVID crisis.
That’s due to end on 6th October, this year: much as I and many others, would rather it didn’t.
As you can imagine, though … ?
I follow the news about it with a certain amount of interest.
Including this piece from the BBC: that tells us Crisis — the homelessness charity — have warned many will become homeless, as a result of not being able to pay their rent … because the uplift has been cut.
I’m up to date with my rent: thankfully.
But … ? Take the point Crisis are making: there’s going to many who are going to be kicked out on the street.
What more does the Government need, in order to tell them keeping the uplift is a good idea? Is a vote winner … ?
I don’t know.
