Hmmm …
I think I might need a loaf, and some milk, later.
And … ?
And, I hear you say.
I think I’m going to get wet: it looks like it’s going to rain.
Not something I’m looking forward to.
~≈Ÿ≈~
I’m job hunting, at the moment.
And, like many … ?
Happily receiving the £20 uplift the government introduced during the COVID crisis.
That’s due to end on 6th October, this year: much as I and many others, would rather it didn’t.
As you can imagine, though … ?
I follow the news about it with a certain amount of interest.
Including this piece from the BBC: that tells us Crisis — the homelessness charity — have warned many will become homeless, as a result of not being able to pay their rent … because the uplift has been cut.
I’m up to date with my rent: thankfully.
But … ? Take the point Crisis are making: there’s going to many who are going to be kicked out on the street.
What more does the Government need, in order to tell them keeping the uplift is a good idea? Is a vote winner … ?
I don’t know.
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Olga†, Edith‡ and Debbi^, putting in their answers: with Trevor, Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Edith on three.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

He’s better known as which English singer: Elvis Costello, Simon Le Bon or Sting?Q2) More to the point, he sang, and played bass, for which English band: the Attractions, Duran Duran or the Police?Q3) 2nd October is the feast day of Saint Leodegar. Here’s a thought …
“I’d rather not have a moment when I’m known for my looks; being funny and interesting lasts longer.”Kelly Ripa, born October 2, 1970.
And a song …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
• Wasn’t London Airport, Boris Island, Trevor? Or am I thinking of something else.
† It’s one of the opening lines from the T-Rex song, Deborah, Olga: the Deborah in the song looks like a zebra, conjuror, stallion and a galleon. Which obviously doesn’t apply to Debbi! She claims she feels more like a hedgehog.
You’ll have to let us know how the fossil thing went. (There’s an old joke about dinosaurs in Parliament/the Cortes. Except Boris isn’t that much older than I am!)
‡ Thanking you for being tolerant, Edith! Now … wasn’t that video of Bek’s good?
^ Let me guess, here, Debbi, you’re thinking of a spiky hair do … ? How did he know what? That you looked like a zebra? Or a conjuror, stallion, galleon, or whatever else … ?
And go right on ahead: Lear’s left a lasting mark!

Q1) Sting
Q2) The Police
Q3) Poitiers
Q4) York
Q5) Television. He sounds like a pretty intriguing character, but I’ve never read one of his books or reviews even, at least that I know of.
The exhibition was quite good. Somehow, I ended up talking about Geology with everybody I interviewed, because it seems not many people study it these days. It lasts the whole weekend but there was a big turnup yesterday already, and it seems it is the second biggest in Spain (the first is also in Barcelona, but not clear if this year it will take place due to the COVID, etc). There was a chap known as a "meteor hunter", and he was cracking up geodes for people to see (you could choose one, pay for it, about 5 or 10 euros, depending on how big you wanted it, and he'd crack it open for you), and people were fascinated. I interviewed him, and he was fun as well.
It's this guy:

Yes, that was wonderful what Bek did. He is so talented. I am glad he is in the world.
I posted one of the songs today. I appreciate your help.
A3. He was born in Autun and so is from Autun. He lived in both Paris and Poitiers. His father was Count of Poitiers and his uncle was Bishop of Poitiers.
"From" to me means where he was born.
I expect full points for question 3 how many times you re-edit it.
Ah, but chatting with you this way is like a fish riding a bicycle, innit? :)

We're running into a similar situation here. People being evicted for inability to pay rent. However, when you have a system like ours, it gets messy figuring out who pays for what (state vs. federal) and how much and how long ... oy!
And then, of course, the landlords have to keep up maintenance and pay insurance and real estate taxes. So, unless they're a huge conglomerate (and most of them likely aren't), they have their own troubles.
So it's complicated here. That's about it.
