Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15th December, 2018

15th December, 2018.

Yes, I’m officially going slightly bonkers.

You’ve heard of an earworm?   A song that plays itself through your head, for whatever reason?

Well, I’ve got an ear-word.

Yep: I’ve got the name of a species from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy floating around my head.

Lord knows why.

I’m just thankful it’s not poetry …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 15th December, 2013, saw the death of evangelist And broadcaster, Harold Camping.   He — famously — predicted the return of Jesus Christ: in which yeah of the 21st Century?
Q2) 15th December, 2010, saw the death of director, Blake Edwards.   Which of his films stars David Niven as jewel thief, Sir Charles Lytton?
Q3) 15th December is Homecoming Day: on which of the Channel Islands?
Q4) 15th December is International Tea Day.   Teapots made of Yixing clay are used for what kind of tea: black, green or oolong?
Q5) Finally … which tourist attraction re-opened: on 15th December, 2001?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 14th December is International Monkey Day.   A monkey is what kind of ‘P’?
A1) A primate.
Q2) Monkeys are a kind of what: reptile, bird or mammal?
A2) Mammal.
Q3) Which prehensile ‘T’ do New world monkeys generally have, but old world generally don’t?
A3) Prehensile Tales.
Q4) The Japanese Sanzaru are what monkeys?
Q5) Finally: Monkey is which sign of the Chinese Zodiac: eighth, ninth or tenth?
A5) The Ninth.
Here’s a thought …
“If you can count your money, you don’t have a billion dollars.”
J. Paul Getty, December 15, 1892 – June 6, 1976.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I’ll keep ’em crossed for you Olga … unless I’m typing, obviously!   And have fun at the Carol Concert.   I’ll have to ask if Jude’s doing one at his school … !   (One of the pubs I used to worked at, had a yearly Carol concert.   It’s the only time I’ve ever seen a brass band in a pub … !)

†        I’d’ve said so, Debbi.   Mind you, they are very different films: Mad Max 2‡ is an action adventure, sci-fi piece, The Babadook is a horror movie that goes for ratcheting up the nerves, one nerve … at … a … time … !   (Mike Nesmith always seemed to be wearing that hat … !)

‡        The guitar player in Mad Max: Fury Road was impressive …

Q1) 2011
Q2) The Pink Panther
Q3) Alderney
Q4) Not sure. One of the articles mentioned both, black and oolong. Another seemed to suggest oolong and another black, so… Not green, for sure. I’d go for black but I have no idea.
Q5) The Leaning Tower of Pisa
I mentioned it but not sure you’ve seen the post… http://www.authortranslatorolga.com/2018/12/14/its-here-deadly-quotes-escaping-psychiatry-3-psychologicalthriller-only-0-99-xmaspresent/
The Carol concert wasn’t bad, but it started later than advertised and the radio was having the Christmas dinner yesterday evening so it was a bit of a rush…
I did enjoy Mad Max Fury Road
