Westworld — Series 2 — Episode 2 Reunion: A Review

4th April, 2019.

Yes: it’s true.

At least, what I’ve said in the introductory video is true.

I’ve had to fill in some paperwork, today, and send it off.

It seems that I may — may — be able to claim an extra benefit: due to the depression I’ve suffered with for many years.

Whether I get it … ?

Is a whole other matter.

It’s …

Well …

We’ll see.

On the job-hunting front … ?

I actually put in for one, today.

Actually, I’ve put in for a job, everyday, for the past few months.

This one?   Got in touch with me, fairly rapidly: at lunchtime, today.

Unfortunately?   There was a problem with it.

The job itself was for a temporary one in Brentwood: but meant I had to register with a temp agency in Chelmsford.

Not having the cash for a ticket?   I’d need help from my local benefits office.

Except, of course, the Job Centre … ?

For pay the fare, if you’re JUST registering with a temp agency.

Why?

I don’t actually know.

But it means I miss out …

Is that upsetting, I hear you ask?

Well … yes: it is.

But, apart from taking a deep breath: and have a good hard think about how to do things differently, the next time something like this, crops up?

There‘s not much I can do.

Bar keep hunting.

At any rate … ?

At any rate, tonight is a free evening: as quite a few have been, recently.

As I’ve got little to do … ?

Yep: you’re right … I’ve caught more of Westworld series two.

Episode 2Reunion — opens in a flashback,

Arnold* (Jeffrey Wright) is organising a demonstration of the hosts to Logan Delos (Ben Barnes): a demo that sees Logan find out how easy he is to fill.

In the meantime, Logan’s father, James (Peter Mullan) is unconvinced by what he sees: until young William?   Points out That the chance to gather lucrative data on the guests is immense.

In the present?

Back in the present, Old William (Ed Harris) recites Lawrence (Clifton Collins Jr): the Man in Black is determined to destroy the park, as he feels it’s his biggest mistake.

Whilst in the background … ?

Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood†) is on the warpath: having recruited a bunch of dead me in order to grab …

In order to grab something young William showed her many years earlier.

And tells Teddy (James Marsden) what they’re going to find … is a weapon …

Now …

Is this Westworld looking good … ?

Yes, it is, frankly.   We’re looking at a cast that’s missing Sir Anthony Hopkins: and not used Thandiwe Newton as much as it could, tonight.

But is still looking watchable.

Granted, I’m not the biggest fan of that many flashbacks.

But, on the other hand?

It’s done VERY well!

Here’s to next time!

*        Usually, Jeffrey Wright plays Bernard: the host that’s modelled on Arnold.

†        I’ve literally realised, tonight, who it is Evan Rachel Wood reminds me of.   Denise Crosby: Tasha Yar, of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Post a Comment

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
