I think the merits of the case are … not for me to speculate on.
Although, when Assange originally hid in the Ecuadorian Embassy, I felt he had a certain amount of justification.
At the time, the UK wouldn’t extradite someone to the US, if they would face a death sentence — as Assange did for the various documents he had publicised on Wikileaks — but Sweden would.
That’s something I still feel is possibly the case: although ten years is a long time, a time that can change a lot. I still think the US associated extradition case? Is in retaliation for the Wikileaks’ publication of US documents.
Rather than the interests of justice.
Either way?
I’m aware of one thing.
Assange has gone on the record as saying he “does not consent” too being extradited to the US.
Does not consent.
My personally thinking? Reaction … ? What have you?
Is Tough.
If you’ve done anything that looks like a crime, facing a court case isn’t a choice: it’s something you have to do.
Consent — about facing court — doesn’t enter into it.
* It’s a tricky one, Olga, as far as I can see. I’ll give Facebook credit for having a feature that lets you designate someone who will close down your account: or memorialise it. But, of course, that needs to be set up before you die. It doesn’t help if you don’t get the chance until after you’re gone. In theory? In theory, any one that knows your passwords, could switch them off. But, again … that relies on someone knowing your passwords … for you social media, you bank accounts, your phone, you computer, your Netflix/Amazon Prime/iTunes/iCloud accounts … (Ah HA! A FITBIT! Jude’s got several … )
† Oh, hell, how’s the hand, Debbi? Here’s hoping it calms down! Either way … ? Good luck on the parody front. Actually, mind me making a confession? The one thing that ALWAYS annoyed me about Douglas Adams? Was the amount he didn’t write‡! I’d’ve loved to see more. Oh, there’s a geeky question coming on the 25th May … ! (Remind me to watch a film: once the next batch of videos are done …)
‡ That’s partly why I started reading Terry Pratchett: the man’s output, and world building, were superb!
Q1) Lois Lane Q2) Sonia Fowler Q3) Fátima Q4) Silent Q5) Silverstone Yes, it's complicated. I know they are talking about digital wills as well (I guess a possibility would be to keep or send a password protected document with all the passwords to somebody, even a lawyer, but...) but a site that offered the services seemed to only be set up for people living in the USA. Bank accounts normally are not a problem (they are counted among people's assets and they're used to it), and you can always have somebody else named in the account (my mother is in my bank account, and I am in hers as well) but I don't have immediate family other than my mother (I have a variety of cousins but no brothers, sisters, husband or children), and I want to make sure my two goddaughters get something (if there is anything to be left, of course), I'll have to see... Ideally I'd like to set up the little bit of money the books make, when they do, so it would go to some charity (no reason to make them disappear once I'm not around, although who knows), but when I tried to check it does not seem straight forward. Oh well...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

I know. I wish he'd written more. But I've got lots of catching up to do on Terry Pratchett. :)
