* Bloody hell, the thing^ has speakers … ! Not that I’ve used it as much more than a CD player, recently — and how many CDs have we got, these days? — but that’s the one reason I kept it. The woofers hum!
† I know I’m keeping my finger’s crossed, Olga: they always sounds hairy, tornados! (Oh, Trump’s at it … again …)
‡ Is everything OK, Debbi? Sounds … nasty. (DM me on Twitter, if you need to!)
^ The thing’s got a power button on the keyboard: at a time most desktops had it on the tower and nowhere else! You could ALSO use the power button to turn the thing off. Again, when many Windows machines made you use the Start menu!
First time I was in a pub. First time I saw a television programme. First time I drank alcohol (us kids were given small glasses of sherry to toast the Queen).
It was only a few weeks after my fifth birthday.
We were given copies of the New Testament and coronation mugs at my infant school.
Q1) Last of the Summer Wine Q2) La Bastille Q3) Buckingham Palace Q4) Spain Q5) Oklahoma City I see what you mean about the chime… Yes, there is something to it. Congratulations to your nephew. Ah, and reading your comments about el Ministerio Episode, I think I must have missed that one with my comings and goings, so I’ll have to try and check them out (or wait until they decide to show them all again, that they are bound to do…). I do have a soft spot for Lope de Vega, and I know I’m not the only one ;)
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
Ah Coronation Day 1953 I remember it well.
