Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-1-2020: Albania

21st January, 2020.

You know, when I made that introduction video, I was waiting for an engineer to turn up: to replace my boiler.

I think I can safely say I’m now not waiting for the engineer.

He’s turned up: and, right now, doing the initial drilling, and unscrewing.

I’ll be glad when he’s done.

It’ll be nice to have a hot shower.

Rather than spend hours, boiling water!

No, wait, a correction …

I’ve ALSO got an extra body, here … with the replacement boiler … AND to remove the cupboard the old boiler is in.

I’m betting that — at SOME point — someone’s going to ask for a cup of tea …

~≈†≈~

At ANY rate … ?

And just as a final point … ?

I managed to catch the first episode of AppleTV+’s For All Mankind, last night.

Frankly?

It’s better than I expected.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1) Albania declared itself a republic: on 21st January of which year?
Q2) Albania is now a what: monarchy, republic or Anarchist Oligarchy?
Q3) What’s the most widely spoken language in Albania?
Q4) Albania is a secular state.   However, some fifty-six percent of Albanians practise a version of which religion?
Q5) What’s Albania’s capital city?
Q6) Who’s the Albanian head of government: the President, Prime Minister or Chairman of the Communist Party?
Q7) What’s Albania’s currency: the Lek, the Złoty or the Euro?
Q8) Albania’ flag is red: with a double-headed, black, what?
Q9) During Albania’s Communist era, one British star’s films were popular.   Which British star?
Q10) Finally … ?   Loric Cana is Albania’s most capped what, of all time: footballer, rugby player, or canoeist?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Two separate teams of explorers met on 20th January, 1958.   On which continent?
A1) Antarctica.
Q2) Both were born on 20th January.   But who’s older: Buzz Aldrin or Tom Baker?
A2) Buzz Aldrin, born on 20th January, 1930.   Tom Baker was born four years later on 20th January, 1934.
Q3) 20th January, 1971, saw the birth of singer/songwriter, Gary Barlow.   With which band did he find fame?
A3) Take That.
Q4) 20th January, 1995, saw the birth of rapper, Joey Bada$$.   In which TV show did he play Leon?
A4) Mr Robot.   (Leon is an enforcer for the Dark Army.   So you know.   And, like a few of the show’s baddies, deeply philosophical …)
Q5) Finally … ?   The meeting considered the first English Parliament — one that included both Lords and Commons — met on 20th January, 1265.   Which Earl founded it?
A5) Simon de Montfort, the 6th Earl of Leicester.
Here’s a thought …
“I pray for Albania, that the Lord may help its leaders to see clearly because if they want to live in peace, they should love one another.”
Mother Teresa, 26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Hooray is the word, Olga.   Both engineers are here, right now: making a very welcome mess, drilling noises … and talking about their respective Playstation habits … what was I saying about cups of tea … ?

†        Have to admit, I’ve got one, myself, Debbi.   You never know when you need something to hold down the washing machine …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
