30th January, 2021.

Right … it’s officially looking nasty out there.

We have rain: as I’m aware Trevor will tell us.

It is bad out there. constant cold rain. The side-walk o Hanging Hill Lane has 10 foot long puddles in a couple of...

Given the bad weather, and the fact I have a pile to do … ?

I don’t know if I’m going to be going far!

Well …

Not without getting new shoes!

~≈👟≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Trevor†, Mum‡, Debbi^ and Edithª putting in their answers: with Olga, Trevor and Debbi on five out of five, Mum on four, and Edith on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q3)        30th January is the (Orthodox) feast day of Saint Hippolytus of Rome.   He’s the patron of which animal: dogs, chickens or horses?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Thirteen protestors were killed in the Bogside area of Derry/Londonderry: on 30th January, 1972.   The event’s know as Bloody … what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1)        Singapore.

Here’s a thought …
“Social unrest and a deepening sense of unfairness are dangers to our national life which we must minimize by rigorous methods.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt, January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945.
(FDR knew how to be presidential.)
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I know, Olga, that’s why I’ve got that clip bookmarked.   :D #Barcelona … !   And now you mention political about faces … ?   Just don’t mention vaccines: the EU’s just set the record … !
Now I think of it, Olga?   I think there’s restaurants named after Sir Stamford Raffles: and a brand of cigarettes!

†        Oh, THAT bend … got you Trevor … !   (Oh, you’ve officially been embedded.)

‡        Hello, Mum!

^        Depends on what you’re calling billiards, Debbi.   I’m assuming you mean this?   Because, occasionally, the term refers to a version of pool — with red and yellow balls — or Carom.   Which has a table with no pockets.   Then there’s Bar Billiards … !   I don’t think I’ve seen a bar billiards table for twenty years!

ª        Morning, Edith: how’s the day looking?

I used to play Bar Billiards at lunch times back in 1970 when I was working on a contract in Epsom. The Airline that I did the work for did not last to the end of the 1970’s.

I was working in Epsom when the Derby was run on a Wednesday and that was a half day Bank Holiday in Epsom. In those days it was free to go on Epsom Downs and watch the racing. Most of us in the office went up to the Downs.

I think you're right about Raffles. (It also strikes me as a great name for a dog. I'll pencil it out in case I need one for some story, not that I'm doing a lot of writing at the moment). Yes, there is a lot of posturing at the moment, but what most worries me regarding the vaccines is some comments by the vaccine makers that they are not as effective for the Brazil variant...

I am getting over an upset tummy. I have plenty of food if the storm is as bad as they say.

    8-12 inches of snow.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
