I can only note that the Reclaim the Night marches — in the wake of the Yorkshire Ripper killings — also saw clashes with police.
They also failed to stop killings: like the death of Sarah Everard, like the deaths of the Ripper’s victims*, or those of the Suffolk Strangler. Which also saw protests.
I can understand the vigil taking place, I really can.
But?
I’m wondering if they’s be taking place if Sarah Everard had been a hooker?
And, given that these seem to have no effect?
Whether there’s any point to them?
I don’t know.

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga†, Trevor‡, Mum^, Debbiª and Edithº‚ putting in their answers: with Olga, Trevor and Debbi scoring five out of five and Mum and Edith on three.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1)14th March saw the birth of producer, Quincy Jones. In which year of the 1930s?
Q2)He produced three Michael Jackson LPs. Off the Wall was the first. Thriller was second. What was the third?
Q3)Jones produced the Count Basie album, It Might as Well Be Swing. Who was the singer on that album: Engelbert Humperdinck, Frank Sinatra or Perry Como?
Q4)Jones wrote the theme for Sanford and Son. Sanford and Son was the US version of which British series: Doctor Who, Steptoe and Son or ’Til Death Do Us Part?
Q5)Finally … ? Jones did a version of Chaz Jankel’s Ai No Corrida. Quincy’s version was in 1981. When was Jankel’s released: 1978, 1979 or 1980?
Q1)13th March, 2020, saw the shooting of Breonna Taylor: in her Kentucky home. By whom: the Police, the Hell’s Angels or the Mafia?
A1)The police. (Apparently? The police obtained what’s known as a ‘No Knock’ warrant, to do the search: it allows the police to enter the named residence, without notifying the residents by knocking, or ringing the bell. Or giving a warning, from what I can see. I’m no legal expert, and couldn’t tell you if similar ones are used in the UK: but think they sound … iffy.)
Q2)13th March is National Elephant Day. Where: Thailand, India or Kenya?
Q4)13th March, 1939, saw the birth of singer, Neil Sedaka. Who released a version of Sedaka’s (Is This The Way To) Amarillo in 1971: Frank Sinatra, Tony Christie or Tom Jones?
* Many of Peter Sutcliffe’s early victims were sex workers. To the best of my recall? He started attacked non-prostitutes, when police started heavier patrols of the red light districts he was targeting. Again, to the best of my recall? The Reclaim the Night protests only started then …
† I know what you mean, Olga: police and judges who are imprisoned are usually on the same wing as child abusers, and those who’ve been bullied, inside. I’m told the slang phrases are ‘segged off,’ or ‘on the numbers.’ It’s amazing what working in pubs can tell you.
The jab went well, enough, I think: I’m only slightly sore, and mildly feverish. The actual jab? Took place in the local sports centre where my sister Anna used to work. Brentwood’s a really small town …
‡ Soon, Trevor? That sounds about right … ! (The only time I saw a pothole repaired quick? Was because it was opposite the hairdressers owned by a local councillor.)
It was breezy, yesterday, wasn’t it … ?
I’ve STILL only got one head …
^ Hello, Mum!
ª It went well, Debbi! So far, I’ve still only got one head!
º Didn’t ZZTop make some great videos, Edith? Mind you, so did Madness! (Watch that Madness video to the end: I don’t think any other band’s done that!)

Well as it is calm today I returned all the bib in or by my front garden to where I thought they belonged. Most when in to the front garden which is 90 degrees to mine.
Q5) 1980 Bartenders and taxi drivers I'm sure have plenty of stories to tell and no confidentiality clause! I'm pleased the jab went well. It's difficult to know if there's anything to do, and I've heard the whole batch was removed, but there have been some issues surrounding a specific batch of AstraZeneca vaccines and blood clots (I've read this morning about a pharmacist in Spain with no risk factors who'd had the vaccine and presented a blood clot in an arm, although they were checking if she'd had one of the vaccines from that particular batch). They insist it is not related to the vaccine, but too many coincidences never look good. Be vigilant.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Yes. ZZ T was very talented and knew how to use the video format. How did Madness manage to get the van down there with the parachutes?
