It’s Friday.
Which means … well … stuff’s happening.
Frankly, I’m planning on doing more job hunting: and more things for Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar.
Equally as frankly? I’m planning on a little shopping.
I’m out of tomatoes: and need a loaf.
And possibly some pasta!
I’ve a couple more pots of spaghetti sauce to use up.

I do know I was in Romford, yesterday: selling on some blu-rays and DVDs, to their branch of CeX.
Brentwood’s closure makes doing that a bit more of a trip!
At ANY rate? I’ve sold off some discs that I’d built up over lock down: having made back ups, first.
I’ve still got a couple of bits to sell: an internal hard drive, and a blu-ray burner.
CeX usually tests hardware, before it buys it from you. Which would’ve taken a bit too long for my comfort.
I might just grab a photo of the things, and put them on Facebook Marketplace: or Gumtree.
We’ll have to see.

Q5) Most places list both, the deaf and the dumb, but using dumb to refer to mute is seen as offensive nowadays because of other connotations and meanings, so not sure what to make of this. The deaf?
Thanks, Paul. We're still waiting on some results, but Anna is doing reasonably well, although she has a lot of exams coming up and when she's tired her performance drops a lot (it happens to all of us). On the other hand, she has become a bit less awkward and friendlier in general terms, so perhaps it just takes her a while to warm up to people. Jordi loves lists and wants to know everything about everything, so that makes progress a bit slow. (He wants to run before he can walk, kind of situation). He insists he prefers to learn long lists of words, expressions, etc., although the evidence is that he does not remember some of the basics we've gone over several times already, so I'm trying to keep him on track. He is a good conversationalist, though, and has plenty to talk about (although not in English).
Ramon, the editor, told me he had done some teaching before, on a one-to-one basis, but it seems that there are teaching places in government schools coming up and his degree in Journalism would be a bonus (I know it is possible to achieve a postgraduate qualification in teaching doing a conversion course, depending on what your original degree is, but I'm not sure if he's done that or perhaps plans to do it in the future, as it involves placement in schools, etc). He was only working at the radio in the afternoons and was doing a Masters related to journalism, but it all went a bit awry with COVID-19 and the like. I guess you might be right, and I might have put the idea in his mind.
