Yes: it’s officially the day when two things are pencilled in.
Firstly? I’ve got a Job Centre meeting with my case worker, today: rather than yesterday.
Mostly where she managed to re-schedule it: to get around yesterday’s physiotherapist meeting.
So that’s something to look forward to.
Secondly … ?
It’s Election Day: England’s voting for loads of local councils — including ones delayed from last year — Scotland’s voting for the Scottish Parliament, Wales has Welsh Send elections.
Northern Ireland has the day off …
Frankly? I’m going Green, again.
Although, as they’re not standing in the Police Commissioner elections? I might just spoil my vote.
We’ll see.

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Mum†, Olga‡, Debbi^ and Edithª putting in their answers: with Olga, Trevor, and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum and Edith on three.
Let’s see how they, and you, does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1)Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were convicted of three murders: on 6th May, 1966. The murders were known as the what murders: Moors Murders, Plains Murders or Savannah Murders?
Q2)6th May, 1915, saw the birth of Orson Welles. His first film was released in 1941. What was it called: The Stranger, Journey into Fear or Citizen Kane?
Q3)6th May is the Feast of Saint John before the Latin Gate. The gate in question was in which Italian city: Rome, Naples or Lazio?
Q4)6th May is Yuri’s Day in the Spring. In other word’s, it’s an Eastern Orthodox version of which saint’s day: Saint George’s, Saint Andrew’s or Saint David’s?
Q5)Finally … ? Which airship exploded, on 6th May, 1937: the Hindenburg, the R101 or or the Loch Etive?
Q4)5th May, 1937, saw the birth of musician and composer, Delia Derbyshire. She was heavily involved with arranging which TV theme tune: Blake’s Seven, Star Trek or Dr Who?
* Turning Donald down is possibly sensible, Trevor. Ignoring Twitter or Instagram, as he’s off them … ? Well … !
(Facebook’s Oversight Board has its knickers in a twist about him, I know that.)
† Hello, Mum: have fun at the polling booths.
‡ Ohhh, THAT explains it, Olga! I was wondering!
As for Rene Lalique? I’m blowed if I know what’s happening there. No, wait: I’ve found it: I got the dates mixed up, from the Britannica entry on the man. Typical! Wikipedia has a different date of death: but cites its reference! (I’ve commented on the Talk page: that might help.)
^ It’s sort of frightening, Debbi, I know that. Oh, I’ve got season fourteen, ripping: Sarah Jane’s last, and Leela’s first.
ª Is he, Edith? That wouldn’t surprise me, thinking about it. I mean … if you’re going to choreograph a fight scene, watching a Gene Kelly movie or two would be an idea: you going to get a few hints about how to choreograph something. (Turns out Jackie sings, as well!)
Q5) The Hindenburg Good luck with the meeting and the elections. Here they had the elections in Madrid on the 4th, and it has caused all kinds of upheaval... As usual. Oh, yesterday I was covering a blood donation event nearby for the radio (organised by the blood bank and one of the local schools), and the father of one of the students' belongs to a group that dresses up in Star Wars costumes and participates in meetings and events, and they came to promote the cause, and they got quite a bit of attention. I'll try to remember to tag you onto the images when they radio station posts the item...
A1 Moors Murders A2 Citizen Kane A3 Rome A4 Saint George’s A5 The Hindenburg
The Donald is too left wing for me.
Facebook gets my Knickers in a twist with it changes of format and not allowing me to have latest news as my default but forcing most popular on me as it opens.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
