Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th January, 2022.

18th January, 2022.

I think we can say this: my nephew is now a YouTuber.

He’d talked it over with Mummy, on Sunday: we’ve managed to set him up a supervised channel as part of my group of channels, last night.

He can transfer the videos, when he hits thirteen and can create his own channel.

At any rate … ?

Here’s Jude’s first video: his channel’s here, and called JPDecember.

From what we discussed, last night … ?

I know he’s planning to try and make videos about his favourite games: and spent some time, last night, seeing if he could save some game footage to a USB stick I’d given him.

Hopefully?

We’ll be able to turn that into something watchable.

Feel free to subscribe: I’m sure you’ll find he’s made something you’ll like.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, Debbi on four and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        18th January, 1904, saw the birth of Anglo-American actor, Archibald Leach.   He was better known how: Danny Kaye, Cary Grant or John Wayne?

Q2)        Albert DeSalvo was sentenced to life imprisonment on 18th January, 1967: after being found guilty of assault and armed robbery.   DeSalvo was better known how: the Boston Strangler, the New York Ripper or the Arkansas Chugaboom?

Q3)        A. A. Milne, author of the Winnie the Pooh books, was born on 18th January, 1882.   Which of the Winnie the Pooh characters is based on Milne’s son, Christopher?

Q4)        18th January, 1943, saw a revolt in a ghetto.   A ghetto in which Nazi occupied city: Warsaw, Saint Helier or Prague?

Q5)        Finally … ?   18th January is the feast day of Saint Margaret of Hungary.   She’s traditionally depicted, holding a what: rose, geranium or lily?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        17th January saw the first meeting of the United Nations Security Council.   In which year of the 1940s?
A1)        1946.

Q2)        The Council has how many permanent members: three, four or five?
A2)        Five.

Q3)        Name one of those permanent members.

Q4)        The Council has how many non-permanent members: ten, twelve or fifteen?
A4)        Ten.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The council may send in troops.   As what: farmers, an invasion force or peacekeepers?
A5)        Peacekeepers.
Here’s a thought …
“I could have signed for Newcastle when I was 17, but I decided I would be better off at Carlisle.   I’d had a drink that night.”
Peter Beardsley, born 18 January 1961.
And an album by Jane Horrocks

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        The first two are rather good, Olga: so’s the all female one.   At least I think so, anyway.   Kate McKinnon — the Holtzamn character — vaguely reminded me of John Belushi.   (The original was written by Reitman and Ackroyd: Ackroyd had written the Bill Murray character for Belushi, who died before the Film was made.   So her casting seemed appropriate.)
He’s fairly camera shy, Olga: so TikTok may not be the thing.   But we DID manage to set up an extra channel on my account: he’s now JPDecember!   Cheers for subscribing!

        Hello, Mum!

I thought you might appreciate it, Debbi!   Cheers for subscribing to Jude’s channel!   (Hopefully, he’ll have a few more, once he’s worked out how to save game recordings to a USB stick.   From what we can tell, you have to press the share button.   Apparently!)
And yep: peacekeepers.   I think that’s an AC/DC song.   No, wait, that’s Heatseeker … !

Good news about your nephew. I'm sure he'll find his feet soon enough. And he might become fonder of the camera once he is older. (Although I have never been a fan, so it is not necessarily so, I guess). I'll keep my eyes peeled for the other Ghostbuster movies as well.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
