The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum!
† If it’s any help, Olga? Hildegard’s just a Blessed, rather than a full on Saint! So politicians aren’t getting everything!
It’s the same here, as well: the Chancellor’s reduced the fuel duty a few days ago. Petrol companies here, also haven’t put passed that on. And, if I’ve understood what they were saying on the radio, yesterday? The government’s not losing any money … as the VAT^’s gone up with the prices.
Actually, I went out for a long — ish — walk yesterday: I’ll try and get seem photos, if I do the same route, today.
‡ You got through, Debbi!
Have you got a large external drive or two? It’s probably worth getting everything — photos and iTunes libraries, especially! — onto the drive, and erase the ones on your main drive. That should speed things up, a little: as the hard drive won’t be moving around as much. (I keep my Photos library on my external drive, to save space.)
You might also want to see if any local computer shops can replace your hard drive with a solid state drive: that would speed things up. (This should work.)
Oh, did you ever read Doctor Who Weekly, back in the day? It was the official magazine, back in the day. There’s stories doing the rounds that they’ve revived a Dr Who Weeklymonster for the next special. It could well be fun!
^ I was an office boy in Stratford VAT office, many years ago, Olga. It didn’t last, unfortunately. But? I have distinct memories of a big argument: were lollipops VATable? If they were food, you didn’t have to pay VAT on them. If they were sweets — non-essentials items — you did.
Q5) Whitehorse Yes, the government never seems to lose money. Surprising, isn't it? Your comment about the VAT reminds me of the famous Jaffa cakes controversy... (I don't think lollipops are food, but perhaps it depends on the person...)
I have to confess I've never seen the official magazine. :)
I was just interviewing the co-creator of Deadpool for the podcast. That was interesting. :) He's written a couple of mysteries now. Funny ones! Hilarious from the look of them.

Yeah, I definitely need more external storage. Bleagh ...! :)
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
