Here’s a thought …
“I cannot consent to take the position that the door of hope — the door of opportunity — is to be shut upon any man, no matter how worthy, purely upon the grounds of race or color.”
Theodore Roosevelt, October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919.
In theory, he’s got two years. The next general election’s due in 2024. Unless stuff happens in the House of Commons, first.
Organising the music’s certainly is a pain, Olga. The albums are relatively easy to sort. But working out where I had individual songs? Did I put Shakatak into the 80s playlist? Or their own list? Or Dance? Or all three? Just don’t get me started on Carmel!
† Hello, Mumº!
‡ Strangely enough, Debbiº? ‘Brentwood,’ is an anagram of ‘bored town.’ Though I don’t know if Brentwood, Maryland, knows it. (Oh, there’s a Maryland Station: but you and Rick would’ve seen that.)
Oh, and did you know Adams went to school in Brentwood? Thought you might appreciate knowing that.
As for the Dr Who situation? I’m sympathetic. But can also understand why it’s being shown on Disney+: the BBC needs the sales. Which doesn’t make it easier for US viewers: I get the impression there’s some grumbling.
^ It’s possibly worth going through a few times, Trevor. I’ll possibly catch it, again, myself. Once I’ve caught up with The Abominable Snowmen: I’ve got the re-animated version.
(I’ve got the reverse situation, Trevor: it’s an awkward stroll up hill, for me to get the 498 to Romford. And the last time I went, the one-way trip worked out about 50p dearer than the single train trip. That’s both on Oyster, I should add.)
ª How much hairspray did the lead singer use? I don’t know. But you can see why CFCs were banned … !
º The next ten question set’s on the 2nd November, so you all know. It’s about South Dakota.
Q5) The Cuban Missile Crisis Yes, you're right about CFCs and the hair fashion of the time. I've never been a fan of the stuff, and hairspray makes me sneeze. I hope you manage to get the music organised again. (Perhaps a spreadsheet might help, or a simple list...). Is the 1st of NOvember a Bank Holiday there? I don't remember. It is here, so I'll try to make sure I don't have anything pending for the 2nd and have time for the 10 questions set. I've seen there's talk, once more, of charging for NHS missed appointments.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Indeed. *grumble* But we could always subscribe long enough to watch, then cancel. I hear that's a common strategy now.
