Here’s a thought …
“One does not decide the truth of a thought according to whether it is right-wing or left-wing.”
Albert Camus, 7 November 1913 – 4 January 1960.
And a song …
* I’m sorely tempted to use the strongest term in the language, there.
‡ Remind me to mention the Darwin Awards, Olga: they hand them out to people who contribute to the gene pool … by selecting themselves out of it! I think Senator Morris got a posthumous one.
I think you’re right: I know the BBC’s been mentioning Mammoth, recently. I’m waiting to see if anyone I know joins …
Oh … Thandie Newton is now Thandiwe Newton: she announced the change a couple of years ago …
^ Oh … that PowerBall prize has rolled over, Debbi. That is serious money!
Q5) Leon Trotsky (Of course, his murderer, Ramón Mercader, was born in Barcelona. I might have mentioned that I watched an interesting movie about him some time ago). Oh, I didn't know that about Thandiwe Newton. They don't seem to have corrected the articles I checked about her. I don't know if the injunction will make a lot of difference. I dislike the disturbance some of these demonstrations create, but, to be honest, being polite and asking nicely doesn't tend to have much of an effect, or all the problems in the world would have been sorted by now. Either people have to take decisive action and make those in power take notice, or somebody pretty big needs to back up such proposals, it seems. Not sure what the answer is. (And no violent protesters, Ghandi and Martin Luther included, must have created a lot of disruption in their time, although perhaps their causes resonate more with the majority of people).
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
