Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1-12-2022 — Mum’s Gone Back To Iceland.

1st December, 2022: Mum’s Gone Back to Iceland!

Thursday … !

You have to love a Thursday.

If, of course, you’ve got something to do!

Frankly?

I haven’t: bar some shopping.

Frankly?   With the weather getting colder, stew seems appropriate!

Oh …

My nephew was over yesterday: feeling rather sad, as one of his pet rabbits, Donnie, had died.

I think a lot of hugs, and making a video, helped.

Here’s hoping!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Iceland has a pair of national sagas.   Sagas known as the what: Eddas, Vedas or Kalevalas?

Here’s a thought …
“It’ll work out.”
Iceland’s unofficial motto.
And a playlist from Iceland’s best known dottir …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        OK, we’ll see you if we see you, Olga!   Have a good day!
JUST as a thought, though, if you DO look in?   Amazon’s got some Scottish saltíres: in case anyone at Sant gets a sore throat!
Oh, and you remember that many Ukrainians were making petrol bombs, Molotov cocktails, when the Russians invaded?   The name comes from the Winter War: Mr Molotov was the then Russian Foreign Minister.   The Finnish guerrillas want him to have something for Christmas …

        Hello, Mum.   How’s Jude … ?

Cheers, Debbi, I’ll pass that on.   He was definitely upset, yesterday.
Yeah … it was the same time he met Connie Booth, wasn’t it?

  2. The only time that i visited Iceland was on a non-stop flight from Vancouver to London Heathrow. We landed at the capital's airport to off load a passanger suffering from a heart attack. They were not expecting any aircraft to land there and had not swept all the volcanic clinker off of the runway. Penny and I were sat at the back of the plane and when they opened one of the doors near us we could smell the sulpher in the air.

  5. JUST so everyone knows?

The day saw CatS having a go at today’s questions: she left this post, on Mastodon.

    “1) Denmark
    2) Reykjavík
    3) army
    4) Old Norse
    5) Eddas
That was fun to realize I actually know a few things about Iceland!”

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
