* I bet you’re glad you spotted that, Olga: numb gums could’ve been the least of it! Yes: I need to pay attention. But what didn’t help was that the chemist gave me three tubes of painkiller: in tubes the same size as my toothpaste!
† Hello, Mum!
‡ It’s an ok film, Debbi: it helps Angelina Jolie’s in it. Actually, so’s Penn Jillette. (One of the characters, Cereal Killer, made A mixtape: of songs by artists who died, choking on their own vomit. Lovely chap … !)
^ Cheers, Trevor: I got it corrected. (I hadn’t altered the template, properly.)
Q1) 2007 according to Wikipedia. 2006 according to Days of the Year.com and the Arkansas Down Syndrome Organisation which states that it started in Singapore and they had kept the website until the United Nations took over, so perhaps 2006 sounds like the better option. The actual World Down’s Syndrome Day page says it has been “officially observed by the United Nations since 2012”, but it seems they took it over after it had been going on for a few years, although all the rest of places mention 2012... https://ardownsyndrome.org/world-down-syndrome-day/

Q5) He hasn’t finished educational psychology yet, he has a few subjects left. What he got is a teaching degree (in special education to teach children with special needs, but hasn’t finished educational psychology yet. Quite an achievement in any case, and hopefully he will finish it). Have fun this afternoon. I have to go to the radio to edit the news item I covered on Sunday. If the sound isn't too bad, it should be a matter of trying to fit the most important bits into the time allotted. Fingers crossed!
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
