Q1)Welsh settlers arrived in Chubut: on 27th July, 1865. Where is Chubut: Argentina, Brazil or Chile … ?
Q2)A speech on 27th July saw Kaiser Wilhelm 2nd refer to his fellow Germans as Huns. A speech on 27th July of which year: 1899, 1900 or 1901?
Q3)Saint Pantaleon’s feast day is on 27th July. He’s the patron saint of what: lotteries, Bingo or roulette?

Q7)New York State has an official sport. What is that sport: American Football, Baseball or Curling?
A7)Baseball. (I don’t know if they play each other — I *think* they’re in different leagues — but, were the New York Mets and the New York Yankees to play each other on a regular basis? That would be the nearest US equivalent to an Old Firm Derby. Except I believe New York baseball games are a lot politer than Celtic vs Rangers.)
Q8)New York’s high tech businesses are in Silicon … where: Alley, Valley or Roundabout … ?
* Hello, Mum! (Silicon Valley’s in California, Mum — and New York City’s the biggest city in New York State!)
† That’s what I was wondering about, Olga. Would there be some sort of investigation? Or a coroner’s hearing? Those posts could’ve been needed, in either case.
And if the partner had been shown to have taken them down … ? Well … ‘trouble’ would be putting it mildly.
‡ That’s twelve years longer than me, Debbi!!! :) (Oh, the Mets and the Yankees are in two different leagues, aren’t they? I was thinking that — if they played each over on a regular basis — that would be New York’s equivalent of an Old Firm Derby.)
Q5) jet engines Do keep us posted. Hopefully there will be nothing irregular in your neighbour's death, but it is best not to touch anything, at least not until after the investigation, if there is one. Sad news about Sinead. Such a beautiful voice, but it seems she had been through a lot.
Ah the Comet. The Comet was the 1st pub i ever went into. I was 5 and it was the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II which we saw on a small black and white telly that the pub had hired.
The pub sign had diffent pictures on either side. On one side was the de Havilland Comet and on the other side was Halley's comet with it's long tail.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
