Q1)23rd November, 2023, is the 60th Anniversary of Doctor Who’s first episode. In other words, it debuted on 23rd November of which year of the 1960s?
Q2)The show is having a what anniversary: a diamond, emerald or golden, anniversary?
Q3)The first episode was called An Unearthly what?
Q4)Who played the Doctor in that episode: William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton or Jon Pertwee?
Q5)The unearthly person in the title, is the Doctor’s granddaughter. What’s her name: Susan, Rachel or Carol?
Q6)The episode introduces us to two teachers. Barbara Wright was one. Who was the other? (Just the first name is acceptable.)
Q7)That latter character appeared in The Power of the Doctor in 2022. Who played the Doctor in The Power of the Doctor: Jodie Whittaker, Peter Capaldi or Matt Smith?
Q8)That actor played the Thirteenth Doctor. Who was introduced as the Fourteenth Doctor in The Power of the Doctor?
Q9)More to the point, who’s playing the Fifteenth Doctor? (I’m going to be strict on the spelling, here!)
Q10)Finally … ? The debut story has how many episodes: two, three or four?
† A twenty-four hour test, Olga! That sounds like a long time! (I’m assuming it’s something like the sleep apnea test I had: you’ll be strapped into a lot of kit, over night, is that right … ?)
The repairs … weren’t repairs, per se. The electrician — who looked like Uncle Fester, with a beard — was checking up on the meter and fuse board. The bath guy was doing the basic measuring up: and seriously suggested getting the extractor fan replaced! The repair’s pencilled in for the 13th December!
I’ll keep my fingers crossed on the building front. But it sounds much like my building. The landlord’s have money for one big job … those of us who live need three big jobs, doing … !
‡ I’ve seen one or two like it, Debbi: those opening credits make for a great mini-movie! But it is VERY well done!
Oh, I caught the first episode of The Burning Girls, last night. One character — Lucas Wrigley — has dystonia: although I don’t know how accurate his presentation is.
There’s another one tomorrow, Debbi: about The Colour of Magic. Hopefully, the answers are all short!
§I went with the Lord Mayor’s Show, Trevor: as the Wikipedia entrylists that first. It also tells us the LMS has run for seventy-nine years, against Wimbledon’s seventy-seven. It ran through the COVID Lockdown, but Wimbledon didn’t. But cheers for mentioning it: I can always reword the question, if and when I reuse it.
Q9) Ncuti Gatwa (As long as I am not expected to pronounce it...)
Q10) Four Yes, I saw something about benefits in the UK. Fingers crossed anyway. Oh, and good there weren't repairs and something is being done. You're right about the test. They'll hook me up to something (I imagine it is similar to what I had to use for the stress test) and I'll have to wear it for a whole day, and then I'll have to go back, they'll remove it, and then they'll have a look. The doctor told me it took a while to go through everything and they wouldn't tell me straight away, although she told me to book an appointment for the week after, so it shouldn't be too long a wait. I guess it won't be that weird in the winter, but in the summer, carrying something around... Oh, by the way, I have read all the novels by the author of the Burning Girls (CJ Tudor), and I quite enjoy them. I read her first a few years back through NetGalley and have been following her since. She's on Twitter and always acknowledges comments. Some of her novels are very reminiscent of others (Stephen King, for example), but she is quite good at building up characters and writes in a very engaging manner. Never boring. She'd been talking about the series and about going to watch the preview and meeting the actors, so she's quite excited by it. At least from what she was sharing online, it seems she is happy with the result.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Perhaps I can write a story based on The Prisoner. That might interesting.

I remember when I first saw the first episode. I got a bit of a laugh out of that line.
