“I am not hopeless nor have I lost my motivation. We cannot stop trying. I still hope and deeply believe that the tireless efforts of our civil society activists will eventually bear fruit.” Narges Mohammadi, who won the 2023 Nobel Prize for Peace.
There’s music from Buch Bacharach, who died this year …
* One thing the Crashed iMac situation has taught me? Is that the old 3-2-1 Back-up rule makes sense. It’s relatively simple. You’re supposed to keep three backups: at least two on different media, and one of which is offsite. I have stuff back-up to one external drive, with Time Machine, and other stuff stored in the cloud … but still need an extra drive — tape drive, hard drive, solid state drive — of some description.
† I’m tempted to ask if your ears have been updated, Olga! Sorry! At any rate: I asked about it because it sounds very quiet to me. And I couldn’t increase the volume of the audio track in iMovie: as Debbi notice, the music was louder than my voice. I MAY have to see if I can tweak it with other software.
‡ Hello, Mum!
§ I can imagine jobs could be awkward, Debbi: unless you know about grape-picking or wine making. That can be a bit specialised, from what I know. (Sommeliers, wine specialists in hotels and restaurants? Tend to be very knowledgeable: good ones can earn a good living!)
The reason I asked about the video, Debbi: is that it didn’t seem to loud to me. What’s more, I couldn’t turn up the audio portion on it in iMovie: but could on the music. That’s why there’s a noticeable difference!
I would like to wish you and your regular quizera a Happy and Prosperous New Year for 2024. Seems only yesterday I was working hard on Y2K and making a fortune on supporting systems on Jan 1st 2000.

Q12) train drivers (You need to be a bit more specific, because you have readers from other countries, so there might be strikes going on in other places. As, of course there are). I see. Good luck with sorting the voice mystery. And have a good New Year's Eve and lets hope 2024 brings us some good news, because the last few years have all been pretty trying, one way or another. All the best to all the readers and followers of the teaser and to your family as well, Paul.
Let's see if I can ace this quiz! :) Probably not.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
