Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 17th February 2024.

17th February 2024.

 Right …

I’ve now got an external drive: a new one.

One that has a smaller capacity than my two main ones.

But?

One that’s already correctly* formatted for what I have in mind: as portable back-up for important documents.

It’s just a bit smaller — in physical size — than I thought.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum†, Olga‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

A Fatal Inversion by Ruth Rendell (17 February 1930 – 2 May 2015), writing as Barbara Vine.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

        Hello, Mum!

‡        THAT’S a thought, Olga: petrol stations!   Though I don’t know if the local ones have Amazon lockers!   And they’re further away than the convenience store.   (The nearest is up Warley Hill.   The next one is up Kings Road, then down London Road.   And  they’re way too steep for my comfort!)

§        He was interestingly fluffy, Debbi!   (Oh, the new external drive worked well: it’ll come in handy!   I just need to check if it shows up on a Windows machine!)

Funny about sizes. I ordered (well, through Amazon Vine) a pair of earrings (they are stainless steel, gold plated) for my mother, who's lost two good ones in the last few weeks, so I thought, why not, and they are much larger than they looked like in the picture. I guess if you don't have anything to compare it, it is impossible to know. I'm trying to post pictures with some reference, so other people know.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
