* Oh, that you don’t, Olga! Cut and paste is a genius piece of kit … when it works!
Well … plans have change: Jude’s coming over, today, instead of yesterday. But an old friend, Graham, wandered in to catch up, and help with the sofa. I’m grateful to him: and that Jude didn’t have to see a pair of grown men swearing at an allen key! I’m grateful I got the hex head screwdriver heads, too: the electric screw driver came in handy, as well.
I know what you mean about assembling stuff by yourself, though: your experiences match mine, when putting the bed, and the bookshelves, together. I’d imagine there’s just as many swear word in Catalan as there is in English!
It ticked you off about gendered language, whilst writing about gender … ? Shooting ourselves in the foot sounds less painful!
† Hello, Mum!
‡ It always amazes me, Debbi: schools here, just have to do fire drills …
Oh, I don’t know if you’re looking at a new Mac. But the rumour mill tells us a new Mac mini is due to drop, soon: complete with the whizzy, new M4 chips. (At the most, you’d need a monitor, and cable for the keyboard and mouse. Oh, and possibly a webcam. Even as I say this … …)
Q5) the USA Good job on the sofa. And good on Graham. There are people who enjoy putting furniture together. My father worked as a driver for a furniture company once (many years back), at a time when they would always send somebody to install the furniture for you, and he sometimes helped them put it together, although he wasn't a very patient man (and he didn't believe in reading the instructions. Mind you, here, the translations are sometimes so bad that is like trying to assemble something following Egyptian hieroglyphics). Sometimes the drawings help, but not always. And you are right about swear words.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

I shouldn't. Here I am with a relatively new laptop! :)
