Q5)Finally … ? The attack was investigated by the United States House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. The Select Committee’s members were from what: the House of Representatives or the Senate?
“Followers of John existed well into the 2nd century AD, and some proclaimed him to be the Messiah awaited by Jews.”
From the Wikipedia entry on John.
And a song …
The next ten question set will be tomorrow: it’s about Elvis Presley.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum! (Tomorrow’s quiz is about Elvis!)
† Oh, O’Neill wrote Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Olga? I only vaguely knew it was a play: but not who wrote it, or what it was about. But I always felt it was an evocative phrase.
I knew the name was Irish, though: I believe the ‘O’ is short for ‘of’: and tells us the family is descended from a Neill. (We have a neighbour called ‘O’Neill’: she’s definitely an Essex girl, though. And we had an Irish-themed bar called ‘O’Neill’s Bar’, in the High Street. It was about as Irish as the Turkish restaurant next door.)
‡ Google’s eaten them you mean? I’m surprised, Debbi, that hasn’t happened for a while!
Hang on, Debbi, what do you mean, ‘… going nuts’? I think it went bonkers a while ago. Just after the Big Bang …
Q5) Herod Antipas Yes, it is a great title, and the play is pretty good (Long Day's Journey, I mean). It's supposed to be somewhat autobiographical, I believe. I watched a production in London with Jessica Lange playing the character of the mother. It was quite a performance.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
