Q4)Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave a speech on 7th March, 1971: about the independence of what was then called East Pakistan. What is East Pakistan now called?
Q5)Finally … ? Marcus Aurelius became one of two co-Roman Emperors, on 7th March, AD161. Both were members of which Roman dynasty: the Julio-Claudians, the Nerva-Antonines or the Severans?
“According to the traditions of former ages, recorded in the Bastan-námeh, the first person who established a code of laws and exercised the functions of a monarch […], was Kaiúmers.”
From the Wikisource text of the Shahnameh, translated by James Atkinson.
And a song …
The next ten question set is on 14th March: it’s about Michael Caine.
* Hello, Mum! (This monitor’s got a very good image, Mum.)
† ‘Bup, bup’, and ‘Gau, gau’? I’m going to have to remember those, Olga! (Finding out why I was curious is possibly disappointing … !)
Politicians? What can I tell you … ?
At any rate … ? Have you seen my junk mail folder, have you … ? Microsoft are sending me mail: people are complaining about my email account. I believe them. Thousands wouldn’t, mind!
‡ Morning, Irene: how is the day … ?
§ It’s a shame they couldn’t revive the character, Debbi. Saying that … ? There’s a few Big Finish audio dramas that do exactly that, bring back Liz Shaw, with Caroline Johns in the role. There’s been a recent one that features Caroline John’s daughter in the role. Apparently, Sadie Miller — Elisabeth Sladen’s daughter — has done something similar.
I’ll be honest, Debbi: I would have killed to see the late Ian Marter return in The Sarah Jane: the kids laughing their heads off!
Q5) English Guau, guau in Spanish. Yes, I know why you wanted to know it now. I am enjoying a bird show myself, because a Eurasian Collared Dove has made her nest (or they, as they mate for life) in front of our window (on a tree, of course, but as we are about one floor high, we're at the right height), so we can see them here all the time, and the little one as well. I keep trying to take a good picture, but my phone camera isn't good enough, and my other camera isn't much better... Oh, supposing the weather holds (it was raining all day yesterday and it's pretty cloudy today) I have to cover a piece of news tomorrow. It is a guided walk through part of the neighbourhood and then the Cemetery of Montjuïc (where Gaudí is buried, among others), so I'm not sure if I'll be able to join the teaser.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
