Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th April 2025.

8th April, 2025.

Hmmm …

I was at my weight management group, yesterday.

And … ?

I’m up 700 grams!

Ouch!

Remind me to lay off the potatoes.

~≈🥔≈~

Oh, I’m up early: again!

As an occupational therapist from Essex County Council is due to visit, today: between nine and twelve.

Hopefully?

They will be able to persuade Clarion to do the needed work, quickly.

~≈💪≈~

Clem Burke died, yesterday.

I wouldn’t say the man was a huge influence on my life.

But?

He was the drummer in one of my favourite bands.

The world’s a smaller place, as a result.

~≈🥁≈~

You watch TV, don’t you … ?

I’m assuming you do.

Or, at least, have heard about the smash Netflix hit, Adolescence.

It seems the show’s makers are to remake the bleak 1980s TV film, Threads.

I can only hope they do it well.

The 1984 original was, and is, the most powerful piece of film making I’ve ever seen.

~≈☢️≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Irene‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga, Irene and Debbi scoring five out of five and Mum on three.

The next ten question set will be on 9th April: it’s about Paul Robeson.

To avoid your answers being copied, they will be published tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Well … I’m up by 700 grams, Olga.   I think cutting down on the potatoes could help, there!

Hello, Mum!   (Can you ask Ruth if I’ve got Jude at some point, please … ?)

‡        Glad you enjoyed it, Irene: Bert Weedon was very influential … !

§        I’ll have to get a copy, then, Debbi.   Mind you, my TBR pile is huge!   (Just finishing the collected MACH 1/MACH Zero books.)

Sorry to hear about your weight. I hope the meeting goes well today. I think the problem with the potatoes tends to be how they are cooked, although I try to avoid them most of the time.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
