Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11th August 2025.
11th August, 2025.
Right … a few things are officially official.
One … ?
I’ve posted my review of the recent episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Watching it, commenting, or just hitting the ‘Like’ button would be appreciated.
Two … ?
I’m off to my weight management meeting.
Hopefully, I’ll lost some: and carried on the proverbial run from last week.
Third … ?
My new phone’s due, today.
And … ?
I’ll admit to being anxious about its delivery.
Granted, one neighbour has offered to take it in: as they’re working from home, today.
So, of course, I’ve left a sign on my door.
Even with that … ?
I’m still a touch anxious: as I’ve still not been able to contact them, to tell them when I’m going to out, or that a different neighbour has agreed to help.
It’s …
Well …
It’s one of those Mondays … !
~≈🚚≈~
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, MumÊ and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s [insert number here] question set, shall we?
Q5)Finally … ? The Adventures of Rin-Tin-Tin aired in which decade: the 1940s, 1950s or 1960s?
A5)The 1950s. (The title character was notionally played by Rin Tin Tin 4th: but — most often than not — by Flame Jr.)
Here’s a thought …
“I got to about 29 and all my mates suddenly seemed to be getting married and having kids and I was like, guys hang on, I still want to go out and get hammered and fall asleep behind bins.”
Isy Suttie, born 11th August, 1978.
And a song …
The next ten question set is the Left-hander’s day quiz on Wednesday.
* Oh, there IS a couple of lockers, nearby, Olga: one in the local hotel, another in the shop, next door. But … ? The O2 site didn’t — seemingly — offer that as an option: and I’m not entirely sure I’m comfortable using it.
At ANY rate … ? I have managed to find the right pack of the DHL website: it sounds like the driver could get he, before I leave. Hopefully!
Oh, you’re not wrong about influence. I think the basic idea for the most recent episode of Star Trek I caught, “Through the Lens of Time”, was shared with The Tomb of the Cybermen. Or possibly — now I think about it — the “Silence in the Library” two parter. Archeologists in a haunted dig seems to be popular.
† Hello, Mum!
‡ It’s sounds like you had trouble making your mind up, Debbi! Either way, I’ve only ever read the first book. The series seems interesting, though.
I don’t know if the Doctor Who In An Incredible Adventure With The Daleks theme is Bond like. The theme for The Water Margin definitely is! (The opening voice-over is from Burt Kwouk: Cato from the Pink Panther movies.)
Q5) France Good to know the delivery got there before you left. One less thing to worry about. My mother is having very minor surgery this afternoon, but it is early afternoon and very hot today (we have a yellow warning for high temperature), so although it should be cool inside the hospital, getting there will be a bit of a challenge. (The underground is air conditioned as well, but we have to walk a bit to get to the right place and back, and it can be challenging to find a shade at that time of the day).
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
