†There were certainly easier ways, Olga: the attacker tried running people over, then started stabbing people … oy … !
Investigating these cases is always difficult, isn’t it? Whether the attacker was alive or dead, it’s going to take the police a long time to figure out why he was doing it. It’ll take an equally long time for a coroner’s report. The sooner those can be done, the better: the victims deserve to know.
Oh … court cases … ! The last time I remember the UK’s government took someone to court? Was when Peter Wright’s Spycatcher was published. Sales went through the roof …
Vox sound trigger happy …
As for ID … ? It’s distinctly messy … !
‡ Cheers, Debbi, it’s nice to hear your support. The whole ID thing is a mess. The basic idea — you should have some sort of centralised ID — is ok. But the implementation has to be good, as well, and Sir Keir and company, has made a dog’s dinner out of it. They’ve not explained how people with no smart phones are supposed to have it: nor how they can avoid getting the databases, the databases with out information on them, hacked. There’s a lot of that happening, recently.
Q5) Golf Yes, indeed. It sounds as if one of the people who died were killed by the police, as the attacker didn't have a gun, and there is an injured victim by shots as well. The whole operation sounds like a mess... I am going on one of my early morning walks tomorrow, and then I'm supposed to be covering an event for the radio, although it is an open-air thing and we have rain forecast, so one never knows...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
