Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15th February 2026
15th February, 2026.
Right … it’s officially official !
I’ve had to re-inflate the boiler!
Or, at least, twiddle the valves that raise the pressure in whatever it is that needs pressure, raising, to get the thing working.
I’m thankfully that I knew the trick.
It would be a nippy wait, in the cold, for a repair man.
And a long wait, heating enough water to have a bath!

As an extra point … ?
After complicated backing and forthing, between Amazon and I … ?
I now have a toaster*!
An Amazon Basics one, if you’re interested: which came with a warming rack, for if I ever wanted to toast croissants.
Which isn’t something I’m planning on.
The one question I have left … ?
Will the thing work … ?

Did I mention I’m on Quora?
The site that let’s you answer questions: and occasionally ask one, yourself?
I had this question float across my time line, a few days ago: asking if people would buy a Mac, if they were frustrated by — or were put off buying — Windows 11.
But I also added that I felt many would look at Chromebooks, or a model of tablet, before making a decision.
I’ve also added something else: that I think the big factor will be not how powerful a machine is, nor the operating system or whether MS Word works on the thing …
But quite simply one thing: budget.
Money’s always the biggest factor …

Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring ten out of ten, and Mum on seven.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
1)The last European country to adopt the Gregorian calendar, did so on 15th February, 1923. Which country was it?
Q2)A meteor exploded over Chelyabinsk Oblast: early on the morning of 15th February, 2013. The Oblast is in which country?
Q3)15th February is Susan B. Anthony Day. Where: California, Florida or New York?
Q4)15th February is the Feast Day of Saint Sigfrid of Sweden. He’s traditionally depicted holding three severed whats: heads, arms or legs?
Q5)Finally … ? Helsinki Cathedral was inaugurated on 15th February, 1852. It was originally dedicated to whom: Saint Charles, Saint Nicholas or Saint Christopher?
Q5)As of the time of writing, and according to an article on Wikipedia, YouTube is the world’s second most visited website. What, according to that same article, is the world’s most visited website?
“There is no incidental music to the dramas of real life.”
From The Insidious Dr. Fu Manchu, ch.9, by Sax Rohmer, (15 February 1883 – 1 June 1959).
And a UB40 song with vocals from Ali Campbell …
The next three ten-question sets are on the 27th and 28th of February, and 1st of March: they’re about Pokémon, Andalusia and Nebraska.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’sTeaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* As I can’t afford Final Cut Pro, I used the free version of DaVinci Resolve to make that video: as it has more features than iMovie. DaVinci is more powerful, more feature rich: but it’s not until you use something like it that you realise quite how easy iMovie makes things.
† Hello, Mum! (It was Alphabet, ‘content’ and Baby Shark, Mum, rather than Google, Videos and Gangnam Style. Alphabet’s the company that used be the holding company called Google, rather than what’s now called Google..)
‡ You’re going to be a workout at the end of the month, Debbi: that’s the three in a row I’ve been mentioning. It’s a long run of five question sets, after that!
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
