14th February, 2026: YouTube.
It’s officially official: there’s been a hideously dreadful mistake.
A dreadful mistake, so hideous, that …
Well …
Someone’s possibly getting yelled at, in a way that involves yelling.
You’re possibly wondering what I’m talking about, aren’t you?
Let me be sensible.
It’s the toaster …
I ordered a toaster from Amazon, Tuesday just gone.
A cheap one: that, with one thing and another, I managed to get without having to pay the £4·99 delivery charge.
A cheap toaster that I ended up paying a tenner for.
Only to find that it would eventually be delivered … on 20th March.
Given that?
I complained to Amazon, had the delivery fee refunded, was given ten pound’s worth of gift card as “a good will gesture”, and told a refund would be in my bank account by next Thursday, at the latest.
The hideously dreadful mistake?
Was one made by Amazon: as they gave me £20 worth of gift card!
Well, I’m not going to mention it to them, am I … ?
Not when a new toaster turns up, this afternoon …
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

“In January 2024, YouTube had more than 2.7 billion monthly active users, who collectively watched more than one billion hours of videos every day.”From the Wikipedia entry on YouTube.
The first YouTube video …
And an observation.
Mock the Week has been revived by a British channel called TLC: which is airing the show on YouTube, without any adverts!
The next two ten question sets are on the 27th and 28th of February: they’re about Pokémon and Andalusia.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum! (Chernenko was the Soviet leader, Mum, not the East German one!)
† That’s always the way, Debbi: if it’s worth doing, it’s worth taking time.
‡ We’ll catch you when we catch you, Olga. Hopefully, I’ll have a toaster, by then … !
