8th February, 2026: Taxi Driver.
Poo!
My toaster’s broken!
Or, at least, the slider that lowers the bread into the slots has gone.
The clicky little mechanism that holds the thing in place has gone, I should say.
Drat, double drat, and dang.
That means I’m going to have to use the oven to make toast: until I can afford a new one.
Ho … hum … !
~≈🍞≈~
One thing I DID manage to do, yesterday … ?
Was order various repeat medications.
Although there may be an issue with 75mg aspirin I take for my heart.
My chemists, Brentwood’s ever reliable PharmChoice, have told me they will be putting in for That repeat: but there is a problem with the aspirin, as there’s a national shortage of the stuff.
However?
I’ve just enough — I hope! — to last me until my next doctor’s appointment.
Hopefully, we should be able to arrange alternatives, if needed.
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Tagline from Taxi Driver.
And an earworm …
The next ten question set is on Saint Valentine’s Day: it’s about YouTube.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum!
† “Better safe than sorry” is exactly what I said to the electrician, Olga. The switch is outside the bathroom, but even so … !
You know, I’ve not seen any Playmobil for years: at least, not in person. Jude was always more interested in Lego, when he was younger: there’s more of it on shop shelves, here …
Hmm … The Wikipedia entry tells me the male and female Playmobil figures are marketed as ‘clicks’ and ‘clacks’, in Spain …
‡ I think I caught Help! a few times when I was younger, Debbi: although I heard the song, more than I saw the movie.
The Cliffs are an iconic bit of English scenery: they’re the nearest bit of the UK to France, Julius Caesar wrote about seeing them … and they’re the first bit of England troops fleeing Dunkirk would’ve seen, coming home.
All that … ? And Vera Lynn’s “The White Cliffs of Dover” is one of a handful of songs seen as England’s (very unofficial) national anthem.
