Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 10-10-2021: Ten, Again!

10th October, 2021.

You’ve realised by now that I’ll happily watch a TV show, or two.

And that the ones I should review?   I do.

I’m also a Dr Who fan: which you’d possibly also worked out.

So … ?

This link telling that the first episode of series thirteen — Flux — will air on 31st October, this year?

Was interesting.

Although, frankly?

I’d’ve been happier seeing it on the BBC’s official Dr Who site.

At any rate … ?

We’ll have to see what happens on Halloween … !

~≈Ç≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Edith†, Mum‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Olga, Edith and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        Today is the tenth day of the tenth month.   What’s the Roman numeral for ten: x, y or z?

Q2)        The last version of the Windows operating system is Windows 10: which is slowly being replaced by Windows 11.   Who makes Windows: Apple, Google or Microsoft?

Q3)        In the Bible, there are ten lost tribes of Israel. Name one of those tribes.

Q4)        10 codes — 10-4, 10-7, or 10-10 — are used if you’re talking on what: online, on the phone or on a CB radio?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Who — apart from the Queen — is on the UK’s current £10 note: Jane Austen, Elizabeth Fry or Alan Turing?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        According to the Roman Catholic Church, 9th October is the feast day of Abraham, the Biblical patriarch.   Abraham is generally considered the founder of which religion: Judaism, Christianity or Islam?
A1)        Judaism.   (Apparently?   He’s also considered the patron saint of the hospitality industry.   He can buy an ageing pub-quizmaster a pint.)

Q2)        Three religions are known — in Abraham’s honour — as Abrahamic religions.   Name one of those religions.
A2)        Judaism, Christianity or Islam.

Q3)        Abraham was said to have been born where: Ur, Damascus or Egypt?
A3)        Ur: or Ur of the Chaldees, if you’r feeling picky.

Q4)        Abraham’s story is told in which book of the Bible: Genesis, Acts or Revelations?
A4)        Genesis.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Abraham was given the Promised Land.   The Promised Land was also known as the Land of Milk and what?
A5)        Honey.
Here’s a commandment …
“Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”
The Tenth Commandantª, according to Deuteronomy 4:21.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I’m fond of honey, myself, Olga.   I really shouldn’t go near it with a barge pole, though!
Hang on, four deputy PMs?   I’m used to just the one … but you’d worked that out, hadn’t … ?   Four DPM’s still sound odd, although given the coalitions …
Yes: the meetings went well, Olga.   My GP’s planning on increasing my levothyroxine, my thyroid medication.   She feels that will help with the weight: it’s hard to shift … !

†        Yes, you’re right, Edith, he was.   Which reminds me … Kyle MacLachlan was in Twin Peaks: and the original film version of Dune.   Hopefully, the new version will be ok …

        Hello, Mum … !

^        Hang on, Debbi … a real story about a fictional cover-up, a fictional story about a real cover-up, a fictional story about a fictional cover-up or a real story about a real cover-up … ?
        Um … I think I’m confused …

ª        If my neighbours can get oxen in their flat?   I’d be very surprised …

Yes, more and more politicians here in government. A nightmare. I hope the increase in levothyroxine helps. It should help increase the metabolic rate.

What a fun Llama clip. I haven't seen the original Dune. I hope the remake turns out well.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
