The Daily Teaser …

I’ve got to admit, it’s another late start for today’s teaser.

Mostly because meself, Allison, and Dr Kevin were all over Movie Night Adrian’s, last night, watching the Roland Emmerich directed disaster movie, 2012.

More on that, later, I think …

Yesterday’s teaser saw Trevor and Libellous going head to head, with Trevor scoring 5 out of 6 and Libellous bagging 3.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) 2nd May, 2001, saw two auction houses charged with overcharging customers: name either.

Q2) 2nd May, 1946, saw the start of an unsuccessful escape attempt: from which US prison?

Q3) More to the point, this escape attempt later became known as what?

Q4) 2nd May, 1729, saw the birth of which Russian ruler?

Q5) Today also saw the birth of author, E. E. ‘Doc’ Smith: name either of the two series of science fiction novels he became famous for writing.

Q6) And finally … 2nd May, 1985, saw the birth of which English singer/songwriter?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1) International Workers Day.

Q2) In English traditionally, what sort of folk-dancing was usually performed — by teams — on May Day?

Q3) 1st May saw the Act of Union that joined the Kingdom’s of England and Scotland, to form the kingdom of Great Britain: but in which year? (Now, why do I get the feeling that FSG Drone and Dr Paul are frothing, frothily, like madly frothing Scotsmen … ?)
A3) 1707.

Q4) 1st May, 1931, saw which iconic New York building dedicated?
A4) The Empire State Building.

Q5) More to the point, who was it dedicated by … ?
A5) President Herbert Hoover.

Q6) And finally … 1st May, 1851, saw Queen Victoria open what … ?

Enjoy those, everyone.

I’ll catch you later …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
