The Daily Teaser …

Angela, I’ve got to confess: nope, yesterday’s Teaser wasn’t about the Octopus.

But if it’s any help, it’s now got it’s own iPhone app.

And Wikipedia page. I think we can officially say it’s made it … !

All that, and — apparently — it’s named after a character in a poem called Der Tintenfisch Paul Oktopus.

Weird …

At any rate, I think we can officially start to get moving on, can’t we … ?

Yes, lets … !

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor, DjAlfy — Angela, herself — and newcomer, AlexandraFunFit, who’s one half of a pair of twins, along with her younger sister, Kymberly, putting in their answers.

Which saw Angela officially stumped, but hoping for octopi — it’s the tentacles, isn’t it … ? — Alexandra bagging 0 out of 7, and Trevor hitting 100% by scoring 7 out of 7: and managing to keep me on me toes, as well.

Alexandra, welcome to the Ol’ Peculiar, and yes, you’ve passed the audition … !

Lets see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we … ? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q7) And finally … 20th July, 2006, saw Ethiopia invade where … ?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1) A human skull.

Q2) 19th July, 1553, saw who as Queen of England?

A6) William Orville ‘Lefty’ Frizzell.

Q7) And finally … 19th July, 1946, saw the birth of which slightly nasty tennis player … ?

  5. Wow, 0 out of 7. I feel so...special. I'm an optimist, so in my world that's 100%. I'll try today's, but Trevor already has it, so I'll stick with my winning plan of wildly guessing.

    1. Tom Hanks
    2. Apollo 13
    3. The part without any gravity; where the flag was
    4. Just the one, because once the U.S. does something once, it gets bored and wanders off.
    5. The opening of a retail store selling wigs and wooden dentures.
    6. Hmm, that was either Tom Cruise or some German-speaker named Von Stiffy or something.
    7. Those Ethiopian kids with guns don't "invade" so much as "get excited and take down everyone in their way." But I think it was Somalia, as that's when a LOT of Somalians moved to Minnesota.

Gee, I feel the opposite of "so much smarter" already.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
