The Great Rollason Way Parking Gets A Mail … !

You know, this is going to be a bit of a quick one, but I thought I’d let you know: I’ve had an EMAIL!!!!!!!!!!

From Crest Nicholson!

Just you know, Crest Nicholson are the developers who’ve built most of the estate that Rollason Way is part of: Wharf Road, and Rollason Way, for the most part.

Brunel House, on the corner of Rollason Way and Saint James Road, however, was built by Taylor Wimpey, the developers that are hoping to build the planned flats on the Warley Hill end of Saint James Road.

Which isn’t the email from Crest Nicholson was about.

The one from them … ?

Ties in with the fact that a lot of my neighbours would like to see Rollason Way, itself, adopted by Brentwood Council, in the believe that this will help with the stupidly hopeless parking, around here

From what I’ve picked up over the past few months, this street will be adopted after the flats Crest Nicholson are planning for the bottom of Rollason Way.

From what we’ve been told, that’s in two years time.

Which doesn’t sound like what Crest Nicholson have in mind, but I could be wrong.

Here’s what their rep, Deborah Bird, told me …

Hello Mr Downie

Further to your email, please see below the answers to the queries you have raised:

1) Brentwood 4A will commence in Sept 2010 and complete 18 months later.

2) We anticipate completing the adoption shortly, following discussion with Brentwood, with the final surfacing being completed at the end of the construction period. The maintenance period will commence at that point.

3) This is all subject to agreement with Brentwood.

Kind Regards

Hmmm …

So, despite what us residents have been told, it looks like we’re going to be waiting for at least 2½ years, before the road gets adopted, even though Crest Nicholson will be starting the adoption process ’shortly’.

Ho-HUM!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
