The Daily Teaser …

You know, I’ll be honest, I was going to make sure I had Battlefield Britain playing in the background.

But then remembered that I’d recorded the Humphrey Lyttelton Memorial concert, the other day, and hadn’t listened to it.

So if I suddenly burst into hysterical laughter, or get distracted by some Jazz, you’ll know why.

At any rate, let’s move on, shall we … ?

Before the Sat Nav get’s really silly …

Yesterday’s Teaser saw both Trevor and Kaiju putting in their answers — I think Kaiju got as distracted by Mexican Radio I’ve been — and both scoring 4 out of 5.

Yesterday’s fourth question’s one of those tricky ones, I think!

But let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q6) And finally … 1st September, 1854, saw the birth of German composer, Engelbert Humperdinck: his best known opera was based on which fairlytale … ?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 31st August, 1948, saw which Hollywood star arrested for possession of marijuana … ?
A1) Robert Mitchum.

Q2) 31st August, 12 AD saw the birth of Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus: how is he more commonly known … ?

Q3) 31st August, 1971, saw the birth of which Irish golfer … ?
A3) Pádraig Harrington.

Q4) 31st August, 1973, saw the death of director, John Ford: in which of his films did John Wayne make his first — uncredited — appearance … ?

Q5) And finally … 31st August, 1969, saw the death of the only heavyweight boxing champion to finish his career, undefeated: who was he … ?
A5) Rocco Francis Marchegiano: otherwise known, of course, as Rocky Marciano.

Enjoy those, folks. And while you’re doing those, I’m going to listen to the rest of the gig … !

Yesterday, I had Mother Machree as the initial Q4 response. BUT then I saw a reference that said John Wayne appeared in two other films two years before hanging out with the good mother. Oh, well...best to make an error in good faith, eh?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
