The Daily Teaser …

Right, that’s me tea made.

Toast … ?

Lined up.

Pounding headache … ?

Yep! I got to bed late, last night, which means I feel relatively awful, this morning.

Bleaugh!

Let’s get moving on, shall we … ?

Before I tell you about the fact you need a license to handle Natterjack toads … !

‹‹‹◊›››

Sorry, I’ve got Coast on in the background: amazing the stuff that floats over your conscienceness, isn’t it … ?

AHEM!!!!!!!

‹‹‹◊›››

Let’s definitely get shifting, shall we … ?!

Yes, let’s!

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Kaiju, Trevor and AlexandraFunFit all putting their answers. It saw Trevor and Kaiju bagging 6 out of 6, with Alexandra scoring 3 out of 6: it also saw Trevor putting some quotes from e.e. Cummings that got me laughing, Kaiju digging up some footage of the late, great Freddie King and Alexandra managing to burst any male pomposity in the immediate area.

Actually, Alexandra, Yesterday have just shown a thing called Who’s In Your History. I’ve got to admit, I’m pretty much certain I’ve got a lot of dead white guys in mine. Apart from the dead white women, of course.

Oh, and all the live people, of course.

Ummm …

Let’s have today’s questions, shall we? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) 4th September, 1956, saw the release of the IBM 305 RAMAC, which was the first computer to use what: magnetic secondary storage discs, monitors or a manual keyboard for inputing commands?

Q2) 4th September, 1886, saw the surrender of Native American leader, Geronimo: in which US state was this … ?

Q3) 4th September, 1923, saw the maiden flight of the first US air-ship: what was its name?

Q4) 4th September, 1957, saw the Ford Motor Company introduce which notorious car … ?

Q5) And finally … 4th September, 1781, saw the founding of the village of El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora La Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula, the The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of Porziuncola: how is this village now better known … ? (And if Kaiju doesn’t get this one, I’ll be very disappointed … !)

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers, dead white guys, included …

Q1) 3rd September, 301 AD, saw the foundation of what’s claimed to be the world’s oldest republic: which European country is … ?

A1) San Marino.

Q2) Composed upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802 is a sonnet published in 1807, about which city … ?
A2) London.

Q3) More to the point, by which poet?
A3) William Wordsworth.

Q4) 3rd September, 1803, saw chemist John Dalton start using symbols to represent … what: atomic elements, colours or atomic weights?
A4) Atomic elements.

Q5) 3rd September, 1991, saw the death of Sicilian born American film director, Frank Capra: which of his 1940s made films was nominated for — but didn’t win — the Oscars for Best Director and Best Motion Picture?
A5) The Christmas classic that is It’s A Wonderful Life.

Q6) And finally … the Three Kings are considered to be THE most influential electric blues guitarist ever: which of them was born on 3rd September, 1934 … ?

A6) Frederick Christian: otherwise known, of course, as Freddie King.

Enjoy those, everyone. I’ll catch you all later.

After I’ve started researching dead white guys for the Halloween teaser … … !

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
