The Daily Teaser

Oh, now there’s a thing … !

I’ve got to admit, me, my mum, and my two sisters, Anna and Ruth — complete with me nephew, Jude — were all in Chislehurst, Kent, yesterday.

Mostly where we were all celebrating my Aunty Bella’s birthday, with a rather nice pub lunch.

Bit of a first for Bella: she got to met Jude for the first time.

Quite something to see, especially if you know what Bella’s sense of humour’s like … !

Actually, just as a side point … ?

Turns out the restaurant used to be Sidcup Town Hall: obviously, it isn’t now. Instead, it’s an ok gastro-pub.

Or gastro-pub and golf course, I should say.

With some stunning surroundings!

Let’s get moving on, shall we … ?

Yes, lets …

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi putting in her answers: along with bagging 5 out of 5, she also admitted she’s working on novel №3: looks like a certain Sam McRae going to be doing some overtime … !

But, at any rate, lets see how she — and you — do with today’s questions, shall we … ? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’, License and video

Q1) 11th April, 1951 saw what found at Arbroath Abbey … ?

Q2) 11th April, 1957, saw Britain agree to which colony’s plans for self-rule … ?

Q3) Six years earlier, 11th April, 1951 saw President Harry S. Truman relief who of command in Korea … ?

Q4) 11th April, 2002, saw an attempted coup take place in Venezuela: who was President of Venezuela, at the time … ?

Q5) And finally … April 11th, 2001, saw Australia beat American Samoa, 31-0, in a football match: still the largest victory in football history, which tournament was this match a qualifier for … ?
And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 10th April, 1953, saw Warner Brothers become the first major Hollywood studio to debut a 3-D movie: what was the name of that film … ?
A1) House Of Wax.

Q2) More to the point, which noted American actor played the main character in that film … ?
Q2) Vincent Price.

Q3) 10th April, 837, saw what reach its closest point to Earth … ?
A3) Haley’s Comet.

Q4) 10th April, 1991, saw a rare tropical storm develop in the South Atlantic ocean: rare, in part, because it was the first such storm to be documented … by what?
A4) Satellite.

Q5) And finally … 10th April, 1919, saw the death of which Mexican revolutionary … ?
A5) Emiliano Zapata.
Enjoy those, everyone: I’ll catch you later … !

Oh, just as a final thought … ? I’m hoping Debbi won’t mind me hitting the Embed button …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
