The Daily Teaser: 3-7-11

Hmmm …

You know, I’ve got to admit, you’ve probably noticed that — usually — the last question in the Teaser’s starts with a variation on the phrase, ‘And finally’ …

Which comes from the habit many newsreaders — here in the UK — use at the end of a bulletin for the final article: one that’s usually a bit silly.

Or cheerful, at least.

The reason I mention it … ?

Is because I’ve got the BBC News channel on, who’ve done their own version.

About how a pub in Yorkshire’s broken a world record in making the world’s largest serving of fish and chips.

Involving some 60lbs of chips.

And a 40lb halibut.

A 40lb halibut … !

Ye gods … !

I wouldn’t want to be the angler that landed that … !

Lets get moving on, shall we … ?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
