Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-8-2016

Blimey …

Right at the moment … ?

I’m feeling quite chipper.

Which is surprising: as my guts were seriously playing up, yesterday.

To the point I had to go home early.   (NOT something I wanted: and something that’s getting seriously resented by co-workers.)

On the upside?

I had an old friend pop in on me, after work.

And didn’t get to bed until late.

The surprising bit?

Like I say, is feeling very chipper this morning.

Weird.

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Angel† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 6th August, 1996, saw NASA announce it had found evidence of life on Mars.   What it had actually found was possible fossil bacteria on what: an asteroid, meteorite or comet?
Q2) 6th August is Independence Day in Jamaica.   Jamaica is in which sea?
Q3) The last Holy Roman Emperor abdicated: on 6th August 1806.   Who was he?
Q4) 6th August, 1892, saw the birth of actor, Hoot Gibson.   He made his name in early Western movies, and as a performer in what: porn films, rodeos or pop videos?
Q5) Finally … 6th August, 1928, saw the birth of artist, Andy Warhol.   His studio, the Factory, was in which US city?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 5th August, 1100, saw the coronation of Henry 1st of England.   Henry was king until his death: in December of which year?
A1) 1135.
Q2) On 5th August, 1975, Britain’s Forestry Commission announced roughly three million trees were suffering from what?
Q3) Approximately 6000 people were killed, on 5th August, 1949: in an earthquake in which South American country?
A3) Ecuador.
Q4) Latvia was annexed: on 5th August, 1940.   By which then country?
A4) Soviet Russia: the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or USSR.
Q5) Finally … which activist was jailed in South Africa: on 5th August, 1962?
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“I’ve never met a person I couldn’t call a beauty.”
Andy Warhol, August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987.
And this tune …

Have a good day.

*        That’s OK, Olga, as it’s you, I’ll let you off!   (From the little I’ve seen?   Most right-handers tend to not to be good at doing things with their left hand: but us lefties tend to find switching hands fairly easy!)

†        Welcome back aboard, Angel, good to see you here!

‡        There’s a woman who know’s where I’m coming from!   They help pay the bills, don’t they Debbi?   But, Lordy … !

I was reading that there's a higher incidence of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's' disease in left handers.... (and presidents of the United States... Not sure if that's connected.)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
