Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th September, 2018.

6th September, 2018.

It’s handy …

VERY handy …

To know about release dates.

Really.

Just to give you an example?

The producers of American Horror Story have officially announced the air date for series eight, Apocalypse.

12th September, so you know.

I’m looking forward to it.

I’m ALSO looking forward to Sunday, 7th October, 2018.

The BBC have finally done the decent thing and announced it as the airdate for Dr Who’s eleventh series.

It’s an non-standard day of the week …

But it’s about bloody time!

~≈§≈~
Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1) 6th September is Independence Day in what was Swaziland.   Strictly speaking, the country’s called what?
Q2) The Indian Army invaded West Pakistan: on 6th August, 1965.   What’s West Pakistan now called?
Q3) More to the point?   What’s East Pakistan now called?
Q4) 6th September is a minor Roman Catholic Feast day: dedicated to which minor Jewish Prophet.   Which Prophet: Haggai, Zechariah or Malachi?
Q5) 6th September is National Coffee Ice Cream Day: where?
Q6) Finally …  the US Government started Operation Spade Fork: on 6th September, 1962.   The exercise was intended intended to prepare the US for what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 5th September, 1939, saw the birth of the youngest person to play James Bond.   Who was he?
A1) George Lazenby.
Q2) The UK’s first subscriber trunk call was made from a payphone: on 5th September, 1959.   Trunk calls are calls made without a what: phone, cable or operator?
A2) Operator.
Q3) 5th September, 1951, saw the birth of actor, Michael Keaton.   In which film does he co-star with Lindsay Lohan … and a beetle?
A3) Herbie: Fully Loaded.
Q4) An actress called Virginia Rappe was found seriously ill, at a party: on 5th September, 1921.   At a party hosted by whom?
A4) Roscoe ‘Fatty’ Arbuckle.
Q5) Finally … Trolley Troubles debuted on 5th September, 1927.   Which Disney character did it introduce?
A5) Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
Here’s a thought …
“Apparently, Daniel Craig said I’d be a great Bond.   Daniel, why did you say that?   Dropped me right in it!   What an honour it would be, but also, what an indication of change.”
Idris Elba, born 6 September 1972.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Bloody hell, it looks like it’s — comparatively — near Santiago de Compostela.   Even I’ve heard of that one, Olga!   (I’m not stunningly religious: but old churches, mosques and synagogues fascinate me.)

†        They DID have an output, Debbi!   (Mind you, Terry Pratchett managed to write forty-one Discworld novels.   That’s partly why I started reading him, not long after he published Equal Rites:   he was a bit more prolific than Douglas Adams.   We weren’t waiting around for ages, for the next one!   I hate hanging around …)

    Q6) A nuclear attack
Relatively, yes, the problem is that it is a bit isolated and the whole area is hilly and full or mountains, and as most people have cars now, the offer of public transport is limited (the nearest train stations are almost an hour from there, and there is a bus to the capital of the area, Ourense, but it only runs once a day in each direction, so if you miss it, you have to stay there overnight (and, of course, the actual train from Barcelona doesn't go to Ourense either... Well, I think you probably can get a sense of what it is like). I haven't been to Santiago in many years but I quite fancy it. Hopefully, if we go for a bit longer and we can manage to get a car, I might do a bit of sightseeing.
I'm pleased there are dates available finally. It all sounds good.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
