Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4-7-2019: Independence Day

4th July, 2019.

OK … it’s not perfect …

But I’ve got a cheap green screen.

As you may or may not have noticed.

Quite how long I’ll be using it?

I don’t know.

But … ?

At least I’ve got an entertainingly Max Headroom thing going on  … !

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 4th July, 1776, saw the USA adopt its Declaration of Independence.   It was adopted in a meeting in which US city?
Q2) That city’s in which US state?
Q3) Where was the USA declaring itself independent from: England, Great Britain or the UK?
Q4) The Declaration was signed by representatives of the original Thirteen Colonies.   Name one of those colonies.
Q5) Who was the oldest person to sign the Declaration?
Q6) Moving on.   There were thirteen colonies when the USA declared independence.   How many are there, now?
Q7) The US also has five inhabited territories.   Name one.
Q8) The first Pizzeria in the US, was in which city: New York, Chicago or Philadelphia?   (Jude would never forgive me, if I didn’t mention pizza!)
Q9) What’s the most widely spoken Native American language in the USA: Cherokee, Apache or Navajo?
Q10) Finally … ?   Watched regularly by thirty-seven percent of the population, what’s the USA’s most popular spectator sport?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Idaho was admitted as the 43rd state of the Union: on 3rd July of which year?
A1) 1890.
Q2) What’s Idaho’s capital?
A2) Boise.
Q3) Idaho borders six US states.  Name one.
Q4) Idaho grows one third of the US’s what: tobacco, potatoes or kale?
A4) Potatoes.
Q5) Finally … ?   The Idaho Falls Chukars are from Idaho town, Idaho Falls.   They play what?
A5) Baseball.
Here’s a thought …
“We are in the very midst of a Revolution, the most compleat, unexpected, and remarkable of any in the History of Nations.”
John Adams, October 30, 1735 – July 4, 1826.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I have to admit, Anne^, I quite liked Steven Moffat’s era: the Capaldi years always put me in mind of Tom Baker’s early years.   Then  … Remember The Pandora Opens, the Matt Smith episode?   The bit where the skull popped out of that Cyberman head?   I think Moffat threw that in to make Mary Whitehouse spin in her grave!

†        Oh, the TV saga gets worse, Olga^!   I had to take the second one back: because the screen didn’t work.   I was … well, fuming is putting it mildly … !   And that’s after having to buy a screwdriver … !

‡        I’ll look forward to it, Debbi^!   It’s always good to see the roots of things, isn’t it … ?   I keeping of getting hold of a good English translation of the Kalevala: It’s supposed to have influenced Tolkien and Moorcock …

^        By the way, how does today’s introduction video look?   It’s taken me ages to find that background!

Yes, I do remember that episode, "Pandora Box Opens" Each writer like I say had their own mark, style added their bit character. Matt Smith season was good. Peter many fans that I spoke to loved him as the Doctor but were lost by some of the storylines, maybe to complex for them or deep. Peter, I liked but Matt Smith had a hard job after David Tenant left, but he did it and was the youngest next to Peter Davidson to play the role, So full credit to him

I'm sorry about the ongoing saga with the TV. Sometimes it feels as if something is not meant to be, but it's likely that they are not looking very well after their stock...

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
